Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Palmerston North Greyhounds meeting on Tuesday 5 August, 2025.
Romantic Rebel (#3) is a smart middle distance performer who finds the line well enough to be a threat first time over 660m. The inside pair have similar credentials in a tricky but compelling opener.
Selections: 3-1-2-6
It’s Okay (#2) was squeezed up early then worked hard three wide when third in a maiden 525m final at Addington. Back in distance & gets an improved draw. Stormy End (#4) has been slow out in trials & on debut but she will eat up all 375m today.
Selections: 2-4-8-7
Fergie’s Girl (#3) has won four straight & has already beaten stronger fields than this. Quaddie anchor & run through all multis.
Selections: 3-2-8-6
Twisted Truth (#6) put in a game third in a restricted age feature at Addington beating home 8 Opawa Postman (#8). Has won three of his prior four visits here.
Selections: 6-8-7-4
Opawa April (#7) is an exceptional youngster running fast times in the south. First visit here won’t halt her winning run. Another anchor & multi-filler.
Selections: 7-2-4-6
Big Time Paris (#2) is generally vulnerable here late in the race but she only has to beat today’s rivals & on recent form she probably should.
Selections: 2-3-4-8
Big Time Tricky (#4) won in this class at Hatrick on Friday. Good enough record here including a tidy second fresh-up last month.
Selections: 4-3-5-8
Everest Sky (#7) is a Group One winner here for the first time. Huge effort to win the Dunedin Cup last start on a similar track at Ascot Park. 3 Big Time Lauren is resuming & should sprint sharply in a fresh state.
Selections: 7-3-4-8
Big Time Theo (#1) continues to race well wherever he goes especially from low draws. Running out nominations in c4.
Selections: 1-8-9-7
Big Time Aly (#7) was surprisingly well supported on Friday at Hatrick where she struggles. Much better here so she can atone in an even field. 6 Big Time Dixie won that race & is at generous odds again. 2 Thrilling Carlos is dangerous from a handy draw but he can fluff his lines early. Quaddie cover.
Selections: 7-6-2-5
Stuck Throttle (#1) won well from a squeeze draw here before a fighting fourth in a group two race at Ascot. 6 Boldly Go was second in that southern feature. Here for the first time but seems to thrive anywhere.
Selections: 1-6-5-7
King Harvest (#2) is a demon railer who just lasted to win a c4 here at the last meeting. Has won in the top grade before.
Selections: 2-3-6-9
