Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Tips & Preview | Tuesday 3 June

Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 11 races at the Whanganui Straight Greyhounds meeting on Tuesday, 3 June.

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 1
6 Boston Junior
Race time:

Boston Junior (#6) won at Cambridge on Thursday so gets to run out maiden nominations today. Second on this track prior was only in a three-dog field but he pushed his brother Sweet Bonanza who is unbeaten in three starts. Tin Tin Bust (#4) is also from the same litter & also won at Cambridge just a fraction slower than BJ. Was third in that small field here on debut but wasn’t far off his siblings.
Selections: 6-4-2-7

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 2
1 Churn It Up
Each Way
Race time:

Churn It Up (#1) bombed the start after another dog was tardy loading into the boxes a fortnight ago. Had won a similar race here prior so happy to stay on board today.
Selections: 1-4-8-3

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 3
5 Bora Bora
Race time:

Bora Bora (#5) won in this class at Hatrick on Friday & his last visit here was successful. Big Time Potter (#2) is tricky to follow but she also won on Friday clocking a quicker time than BB. Finished fourth & over four lengths behind that dog when they met down the straight a fortnight ago but it was her first try here. Quaddie back-up.
Selections: 5-2-7-1

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 4
7 Silky Adobe
Race time:

Silky Adobe (#7) opened at good odds given that he beat Opawa Keith (#3) when they met down the straight last time & he should be even better for that run second up after six weeks off. Keith didn’t get a clean getaway however & is a quaddie include.
Selections: 7-3-6-5

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 5
6 Old School
Race time:

Old School (#6) made a stunning return to racing when winning over 457m at Cambridge after seven months off. Had trialled in 17.24s here on May 20 the same day that Loveable Rogue (#8) clocked 17.27s to beat Fool Me Once (#2). All three are quaddie prospects.
Selections: 6-8-2-4

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 6
5 Flash Inferno
Race time:

Flash Inferno (#5) is a big dog who has been a bit clumsy around the bends. Should thrive down the straight.
Selections: 5-8-6-2

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 7
4 Honky Tonk High
Race time:

Honky Tonk High (#4) was competitive for most of the 520m against some c5 dogs on Friday. Looks thrown on here downgrading to c1. Multi-filler.
Selections: 4-2-7-5

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 8
7 Big Time Martin
Tip of The Day
Race time:

Big Time Martin (#7) finished fairly for fifth when ridiculously short in the market at Manawatu. Much better down the straight now & was a solid second in the equal fastest time of the day here prior. Potential quaddie anchor.
Selections: 7-8-3-6

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 9
3 Big Time Theo
Race time:

Big Time Theo (#3) was hampered into the first bend when handy before finishing fourth on Friday. Third in a fast race at the last straight track meeting. Our Boy Romeo (#7) has been below his best lately but downgrades into an even field. Won in this class here four starts back. Include for value.
Selections: 3-7-1-5

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 10
5 Big Time Telea
Race time:

Big Time Telea (#5) is unbeaten in three starts in a straight line & ran as fast as the c5 chasers last time. Has won twice since at Hatrick so has quickly built up an impressive record. Anchor.
Selections: 5-2-1-3

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 11
6 Star Boy Express
Race time:

Star Boy Express (#6) jumps back into c4 where he belongs at the very least down the straight. Bow Anna (#3) comes in fresh & returns to the track where she has looked most comfortable. Probably need the top four selections to complete the quadrella.
Selections: 6-3-7-2
