Ran faster than the open class sprinters when winning on debut on Tuesday. Entitled to be at short odds on that but worth noting that he stumbled at the start when qualifying on this track finishing fourth of four a spot behind 5 Big Time Clarke who has bungled the start in both his races to date.
Selections: 3-5-8-4
Has only won once in 65 starts & that was 17 months ago but he beat three of his four rivals home last Friday & overall looks the dog to beat in this field.
Selections: 7-5-6-8
Won well on debut here beating a dog that won it’s next start. Lost the compass when looking likely to repeat at Manawatu. Looks up to this.
Selections: 3-2-5-8
Had downgraded before a confidence boosting second at Manawatu. Should find the front again in this. 4 Opawa Turbo was impressive coming from back in the pack to run down a handy hound a fortnight ago.
Selections: 6-4-7-3
Hasn’t quite caught the start right in his last two outings then had last week off. Expecting him to fire out & threaten the favourite 8 Big Time Bora.
Selections: 5-8-2-7
Beaten by close margins in a line-up for the minors last Friday when she was tightened across the top. Not the quickest early but should have the measure of this field.
Selections: 2-4-8-3
Won well in this class at Manawatu & should simply repeat tonight.
Selections: 1-6-4-7
Downgrades after racing good fields at Manawatu. Has a handy record here. This is still a decent line-up but she should notice the difference.
Selections: 7-2-3-1
Got a bit awkward racing across the top last Friday but wasn’t far away. This race looks within her grasp although the same could be said for a few so taking a spread in the quaddie.
