Commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his selections for every race at the Whanganui Greyhounds meeting on Friday 28 June, 2024.
Brilliant youngster unbeaten in three starts including a searing debut here. Multi-starter.
7 Big Time Freda drops back in class. Can’t live with the favourite but she should have the rest covered.
Selections: 1-7-2-3
Has looked handy in two trials at Addington including a win from this trap in a tidy time. 8 Loveable Rogue has placed twice in as many attempts despite running extremely wide. 7 Goldstar Nadia is worth including for odds as she was prominent in a trial behind Murphy before she contacted the rail.
Selections: 1-8-7-6
Promising youngster here for the first time. Ran home well at Manawatu on Tuesday. Just needs to leave on terms. 8 Big Time Dixie was a solid second in her first outing in this class.
Selections: 5-8-6-4
Ran home strongly when returning to this class. Could get a kinder early run this time too. 5 Big Time Alex was knocked off balance by the winner after leading until the home turn. Quaddie must.
Selections: 2-5-1-3
Was knocked out of the contest in the first two strides when stepping up to the top class. Ran the fastest time of the night the week before. Tempting odds. 6 Big Time Sonic came from a long way off 1 Big Time Zola to beat her again last Friday.
Selections: 7-6-1-3
Was hampered in the front straight then the back straight by two different rivals in a Futurity heat. Each way play.
Selections: 4-1-6-3
Was distracted when bumping with 4 Alpha Rambo across the top last time. Didn’t have a distance race this week so might be able to produce what he did a fortnight back. 2 Federal Infrared is a champion & almost certain leader but she’ll need a decent break on the strong boys.
Selections: 1-4-2-5
Pushed Blazin’ Master at Manawatu. Gets into this race well. Not the best railing dog but he can make it work.
Selections: 1-5-3-8
A genuine freak aiming for five group ones & he won the fastest heat by more than 13 lengths. Build a same race multi around him.
Selections: 3-5-1-8
Quality young sprinter dropping back in class for his first look here. The drop back to 305m should also suit him.
Selections: 1-7-2-8
Easy winner in this grade when fresh up at Manawatu midweek. Has won three of four here. Anchor.
Selections: 5-1-3-6
Won five straight before getting jammed in traffic at Addington last week. First up on this track but so are many of her toughest rivals.
Selections: 4-5-2-6
