Whanganui Greyhounds Tips & Preview | Friday 14 June

Commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his selections for every race at the Whanganui Greyhounds meeting on Friday 14 June, 2024.

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 1
2 Sweet And Sassy

Runner-up in her two starts on this track to date & was run down by a northern visitor a fortnight ago. 5 So Strict has trialled well here the last two Fridays so is expected to be prominent on debut. Strong money has come for her.
Selections: 2-5-7-8

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 2
7 Big Time Dixie

Led throughout to win a maiden 375m race at Manawatu on Monday leading home 6 Big Time Taxi. That pair should be all you need on the quaddie ticket.
Selections: 7-6-2-1

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 3
4 Why A Rapper

Gunned down by a northern visitor when downgrading. Overdue. 1 Beautiful Baloo will move off the rail but has the ability once balanced & the talented 2 Big Time Hilary tends to be slow early which will aid the inside dog. Tricky little leg.
Selections: 4-1-2-7

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 4
7 Star Boy Express

Determined finish to get home in this class at Manawatu. Has been good here to date too. 1 Mimi has run black book thirds in her last two outings. Quaddie cover & place play.
Selections: 7-1-5-3

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 5
1 Big Time Zola

Run down late by a southerner when second at Manukau. Her most recent form on this track has been red hot. 8 Big Time Sonic was kept wide throughout at Manukau. His win here prior was dominant & he can challenge the favourite.
Selections: 1-8-3-4

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 6
4 Rock It Rapper
Tip of The Day

Was crowded & found traffic trouble at Manawatu. Went close to his first win on this track the time before & gets a great chance to achieve that milestone tonight.
Selections: 4-6-7-3

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 7
4 Johnny Football

Won a Waterloo Cup heat here in a hot time then was an unlucky sixth in the final at Manukau. Has to work past a full field packed with pace with the sisters 7 Russian Ahead & 3 Fear To Tread looking set to provide the biggest threats.
Selections: 4-7-3-2

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 8
1 Big Time Bam

Likes to float up the track at various stages in his races but he has been able to win from inside draws. Has a stellar record on this circuit.
Selections: 1-2-7-4

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 9
8 Federal Infrared

Is now New Zealand’s biggest ever stakes-earner after her terrific third in the group one Waterloo Cup. Maintains the early speed to get across this field. 6 Alpha Rambo was below his best last Friday although the winner was stunning on the night. Worth including in the quadrella.
Selections: 8-6-2-4

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 10
2 Miss Rangiora

Back in distance & her speed should be ideally suited to 305m. Prepared to anchor her.
Selections: 2-5-1-6

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 11
2 Big Time Chipper

Was in a chipper mood at Manukau posting the fastest win of the day in a c3 final. Record here is impressive. 5 Big Time Mahi seemingly had no excuse at Manukau but she’s a different dog here.
Selections: 2-5-7-1

Whanganui Greyhounds Race 12
3 Big Time Lime
Each Way

Stepping up from a c1 win into c2/3 field but she’s the quickest canine in this so it shouldn’t matter. 7 Bow Belle Beth is at surprisingly long odds given that the last time she appeared here she ran faster than anything else in this field outside of the favourite.
Selections: 3-7-2-8
