Nine races make up the program this Wednesday at Doomben.
The track is rated a Soft 6 with the rail out 6m across the circuit.

Luisana has been super genuine all prep, finding the money in all four starts he’s contested across Ipswich, Beaudesert, and here at Doomben. The tactics were slightly against him last-start over shorter, taken right back under Brooke Ainsworth where he was last rounding the turn and forced to make up enormous ground in the run home to grab third. That said, he charged the line in impressive fashion and clearly has a turn of foot that should see him threaten over further now.
Keen on Warrior Head dropping back to 1100m. This smart son of Headwater was impressive on debut at Ipswich four weeks ago over slightly further, leading them up the straight and only conceding in a diving finish to grab third. He plugged away nicely when the speed quickened over the final 100m and another forward showing can be expected with Ryan Maloney taking over. Off a good gap between runs, he should prove difficult to run down in a race that really doesn’t look that much tougher.
Fitzpatrick looks to be a colt worth following out of the Freedman yard. The son of Snitzel put the writing on the wall when winning by a whopping 6.5 lengths on the Poly track on the Sunshine Coast second-up, setting a new track record of 57.32 seconds in the process. He was given close to a four-week break before stepping out over 1000m back on the turf earlier this month, held up at a crucial stage in the run home but still showing plenty through the line for third. Hard fit, drawn well, and likely to eat up 1200m on less of a turnaround, he looks the one they all have to beat.
Addition should be winning soon for Tony Gollan. We saw this talented filly by Savabeel go around twice at the start of the year, debuting over 1200m here at Doomben where she struggled to find a running lane over the final furlong on her way to finishing third. She was only gunned down late out to 1400m second-up before being sent back for a spell, but has seemingly returned in great order based on her recent trial.
Yet He Moves has made the journey north and is deep into his prep having mixed his form at the midweek’s down in Sydney. Chris Waller’s four-year-old hasn’t won since last November but does have some likable form around the likes of Naval Commission three back at Kensington, a gelding that has since gone on to claim a hat-trick of wins. The wide gate complicates things but he does have likable wet-track form and a place to his name over 2000m.
Heyoka might be over the odds after failing to fire fresh at Ipswich last month. The Spirit Of Boom filly drew wide and was only fair to the line, a disappointing effort after winning on debut during her maiden prep and then going on to find the money in a BM65 contest. A nice low gate could see her make amends and she did handle similar conditions quite well two runs back.
Happy to forgive April In Augusta for the wide run in transit last start in what was a tougher Class 6 race at Eagle Farm. The four-year-old mare by Spieth looks ready to peak now third-up and was only beaten narrowly in a similar contest fresh at Ipswich. Fitter now and drawn a much kinder gate, this looks a more suitable race if she can settle off the speed early under Celine Graham.
Denied sped out to lead three weeks ago over the track and distance and hung on bravely to claim her hat-trick in a BM68 contest. This is a slight step back in class for Jack Bruce’s mare but she does look the one to beat with the claim put to good use and Emily Lang responsible for his two wins prior. The soft conditions might pose the biggest threat to his chances, but in a race that lacks early speed, he should adopt similar front running tactics and look to dictate on his terms up front.
Miss Miriam has the awkward alley to overcome but there’s no knock on her recent form. Jack Bruce’s filly has featured in the money in all three starts since resuming, finally breaking through to claim her maiden at Ipswich two weeks ago where she wound up with a big run down the outside to pull clear by over a length. She’ll find this tougher up to Class 1 now and needs luck from out wide, but a similar effort would see her feature in the money again with Damien Thornton sticking.
