It’s all systems go in the world of racing and sports at the moment, with fans and punters being consistently treated to a buffet of action. The last two were somewhat nervous finishes, were the Sea Eagles scoring in the final 10 minutes to make the Panthers 1-12 margin hit, and David Fifita scoring in the 70th minute in the Titans’ clash with the Rabbitohs, and as the Bulldogs completed the upset of the Eels on Monday night, this multi was declared a winner, getting this punter’s week off to the dream start with a massive $26,730 win.
That wasn’t the only Big Winners bet to end on the Bulldogs v Eels game, with another NRL and Super Rugby thriller turning a $5 Bonus Bet into a $5,448 win. Targeting the back half of the card, this punter pieced together a four-leg multi, selecting the winners from Races 5-8. Classic Elegance ($11) held off Cyren Shard in Race 5 for a winning start to the evening for this punter, but the second leg was a little more convincing, as Kiss And Run ($4.20) won by 1.1L from Monarch Hill. My Copy’s ($11) run on the inside was just enough to win from a fast-finishing Twista in the penultimate leg, putting the $11,664 hopes in the hooves of Bar Louie ($3.20). In just his second start, Bar Louie was the favourite, and for good reason, as he cruised past the post to make it a two-from-two start to his career and helped this harness racing fan turn their $20 into a mammoth $11,664.
The second big harness collect of the week happened the following evening at Addington, with a $20 multi winning one trots fan $11,664. Circling the first three races on the card, as well as Race 9, this punter picked the winner in four of the night’s races to execute a masterclass. First up was Renaldo ($2.70) in Race 1, and the two-year-old showed good toughness to break his maiden, before Forgiveness ($4.80) did the same in Race 2 with a dominant 4L triumph. Dynasty was almost as impressive in the third, accelerating at the 150m mark to leave the rest of the field in her wake for a 2.7L win, making for a long wait for the final leg of the multi. Almost three hours later, Race 9 arrived and it was Styx Jewel’s ($5.00) job to round out this bet with a win. Neck-and-neck with Master Class with 150m to go, it looked like this race was going to go down to the wire, but Styx Jewel turned on the jets to pick up the win and earn this harness fan a giant $11,664.
The NRL wins continued into Round 15, with one punter expecting the Storm’s dominance over the Warriors to continue on Saturday.
