Commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his selections for every race at tonight’s Whanganui Greyhounds meeting.
Ran home stylishly for fourth after an interrupted run in her first start on this track last week. 4 Thrilling Aggie has been unlucky of late. She ran home well for fourth in her only 520m attempt five starts back & this looks an easier assignment than that.
Selections: 5-4-7-2
Did well to finish third after a slow start when favourite on debut. Will have the measure of this field if she leaves the traps on terms.
Selections: 5-1-8-2
Finished fourth in a much stronger field over 410m two starts back. Will appreciate the easier company of a 305m sprint. 2 Thrilling Issac trialled in a fair time here last month but has had a series of rough runs at Manawatu since. 3 Torque in Torque downgrades & has quadrella claims.
Selections: 8-2-3-7
Eye-catching second at Manawatu last start. Has changed kennels since & trialled well here last Friday. 3 Mow Cow has been beaten by some of her rivals in her last two starts but her efforts have been outstanding. Each way play.
Selections: 2-3-7-8
Got it right again last Friday & delivered in style. Has been well beaten by 6 Cumbria when they have met lately but Zola can run the quicker times when she catches the start correctly.
Selections: 1-6-4-2
Can probably disregard her sixth in a heat of the NZ Oaks at Addington & look back to her third from this draw behind two of the region’s most progressive young greyhounds.
Selections: 5-1-8-2
Huge effort to get up for second despite a home bend check in his first run here a week back. 8 Ruidosa has been incredibly unlucky on the final bend in her first two runs in this campaign. Value for exotics. 9 Cliff Top Winnie is a must include now he’s back in the field.
Selections: 7-8-9-1
Solid efforts over more ground in her last two outings. Chased a rising star home the last time she went over 520m. Wide draw is the only negative but she can overcome that in this field.
Selections: 8-3-2-4
Huge run to gun down one of the best last Friday. Trickier trap but it’s not beyond him to repeat. 2 Miss Sky Wave made a good impression in a NZ Oaks heat at Addington & this track might suit her style even more. 7 Big Time Roman is in career best form & gets forward. Quaddie include.
Selections: 7-2-6-1
Finished best to score in a similar line-up last Friday. Repeat looks likely. Quaddie anchor.
Selections: 4-3-6-2
Downgrades on the back of three fair fourths. Not the quickest from the traps but has good acceleration. Getting short enough in the market.
Selections: 5-1-7-6
Has been big unders in recent starts at Manawatu but returns to her best track so happy to be back on. 3 Big Time Moony continues her incredible resurgence & is one of only two c4s in this along with 2 Last Surprise.
Selections: 7-3-2-8
