Race time:

Ōtaki Race 2 | Have liked this horse’s runs all season. Stepped up to 2100m last start for the first time and smashed them with a nice finish. Looked like it had some improvement and was eased down to the line. Steps up to R75 but drops some weight, which I think will help it to go two in a row. Boosted out to $4.

Race time:

Ellerslie Race 8 | I was impressed with her last run in behind her stable mate who it takes on again today. Stepping up to the 1600 is key here for this flashy Proisir Filly. Having the barrier advantage this time I’m hoping she can get a nice spot one off the fence in the front half of the field and be too strong for them late.

Race time:

Ellerslie Race 5 | Was flashing home Melbourne Cup Day but couldn’t match Risque Ruler. Came out next start weaving through them and won over 1600m at Ellerslie. Knows its way round the course, up to 2100m and we get Opie Bosson in the saddle, who will settle the horse and be coming for them late. Strong field so we won’t get too carried away. Each way.

Race time:

Ellerslie Race 2 | Ran 2nd behind the very smart Return To Conquer in a trial in October and then finished 2nd on debut behind Storm Front later that month. Given a break and resumes on Boxing Day following an impressive trial win at Pukekohe last week over 800m, when carrying a big weight, by a length and a half with gas in the tank. Looks smart and a bold run should be forthcoming.

Race time:

Otaki Race 4 | Going with the raceday experience against some first starters who have wraps on them. Home track advantage and was to the fore at recent jumpouts.

MARKHAM

Race time:

Wingatui Race 6 | Huge run for third in the Stewards during Cup Week. Ran best sectionals of the race and some of the best sectionals of the day. Kylie Williams chooses over Third Decree. Great record first up from a break, won’t want it too wet but has to go close…. 😬

DAN

Race time:

Westport Race 10 | He has been hard to follow this season. Stepping back onto a track that he loves. He is 3/3 at this track and distance and it was a good enough run last start to keep me interested. He’s a great chance to go 4/4. $4.80 & $1.65.

SCANMAN
1 Teds Legacy
Race time:

Westport Race 8 | $11 and $2.80. Looks to be coming back into form at the right time and I think he will be ready to run a big race in this. Two miles on the grass looks to be right in his wheelhouse and usually steps well. A nice each way bet at the value.

MARKHAM
1 Brandi Snapp
Race time:

Westport Race 4 | Probably shouldn’t be a maiden any more but hasn’t really run a bad race yet. Lobs a great draw to work from and the Jimmy Curtin stable usually fires right up at Patterson Park. Should be right in it.

GASSO
1 Just Holla
Race time:

Westport Race 6 | $15 & $4.00. Two runs back and a fitter horse. Well down in grade, loves a grass track, and is a quick stepper. From 1 could lead them up over the short course. No driver down, but hopefully Blair drives. A great each way bet!

Race time:

Westport Race 7 | Last run was better and gets into this race extremely well on the rating splits. On his ability he’s shown over the years, he’s a huge chance in this.
