We blessed this horse as Luke’s best two starts ago at Tauranga where it was keen and got too far back on a day where they all won from the front. He’s been finishing huge in every race, so I think first time up to 1600m could make all the difference. Pukekohe could be the perfect track with the long straight and Warren Kennedy absolutely loves it there. Will be very hard to beat Desert Mystic but I think the each way odds are worth having a crack at!
He was awesome two starts ago in the Remutaka Classic picking them up in the final stride at this track. Over cup week he won twice over 2600 the second win was on a Soft7 which should be close to what we get on Saturday. He takes on a few nice horses with both the Wellington and Auckland Cup winners in this. With A Bull and K Myers combined they’re a lethal combination and we should be in with a chance on the final bend.
It’s the Cup Week match race all over again. Mystic Park versus Platinum Attack. This time we won’t make the quinella the best bet and we’ll stick with Mystic Park who was my best bet win week 2. This horse goes very well fresh and the stable have a good record of bringing horses up to the north and popping off races like this. $5 and $2. A very good each way to finish the day.
Nice debut win at Te Rapa late January over 1200m and then backed up with a close second at Matamata two weeks later over 1400m. Has had a bit of a freshen and should be ready for a bold run again.
