The weekend’s best bets from across the Boys Get Paid community.
Alexandra Park, Race 7: Huge fresh up and has run well in all her starts so far. Her run two starts ago in the Delightful Lady Classic was huge after galloping multiple times, racing unkindly and then sitting parked and sticking on gamely for 4th. I’m hoping she can get a nice drag through and sit a bit closer than she did last week and get over the top of them.
Addington, Race 2: Went a super race against some nice 3 year olds last week and was unlucky over the last 300m when looking for gaps. The start prior ran a slashing second when doing plenty of work. With any luck looks tough to beat Friday night.
Addington, Race 7: Two brilliant seconds in two of the lead up races to the New Zealand Trotting Cup behind Dalton Shard to start the campaign. Unlucky not to have won both of them. Great from a stand and will eat up the 20m handicap and if he runs anywhere up to his last two efforts, he’ll grab a well deserved win this week. $2.70 opening price looks great money.
Motukarara, Race 8: Racing well of late, usually an on pace runner, but from draw will settle mid-field. Big long straight will suit. Grass no issue. Loves the Stand start.
Motukarara, Race 5: Grand campaigner, has great manners expect him on speed and in the fight late.
Ellerslie, Race 2: He was my best bet two weeks ago and got crunched into $1.80 but couldn’t get the job done. The jockey who beat him that day was Matt Cartwright who’s cleaning up at the moment and takes the ride this week. He’s 2 from 3 over 2100m and this is our chance for punters to get their winnings back after the last start!
Ellerslie, Race 3: Ran well last start at Ruakaka, still looked to do a few things wrong. Drawn well and Matt Cartwright is riding out of his skin. $4.8 & $2.05 is good enough for me.
Whanganui, Race 6: The dream team combine: Bull x K Myers. Loves the wet, the mile and Whanganui. Time to get our cup week cash back.
Taupō, Race 7: Nice mare resuming following a trial win at Te Rapa last month and the half sister to Melody Belle did win on debut so goes well fresh.
Whanganui, Race 7: Trialed nicely on a wet track before its last run at Hawkes Bay so should handle the wet Wanganui track on Saturday. Looks a winnable race for it.
