Scanman
12 Masterly

He looked home for all the tea in China at the 600 then he threw in a rough one and galloped. I think the wide draw off 10m will work beautifully if he steps like last week. I think he could be in front after 600m and from there he just needs to trot the journey to get the chocolates.

Fitzy
3 Confessional

Super unlucky last week draws the front so expect it to lead and be tough to rundown

Gasso
4 Vessem

Raced against the best in his age. Comes in fresh and he races well in that condition. Drawn to control the race from 4.

Matt Markham
6 Rock N Roll Don

Debutant from the Bob Butt stable who has been very strong in two trials to prepare for this. Strong second behind Rock And Bust who has since run second at Addington and then very good winning over Louie Massimo last week, Finds a very winnable race on debut and should deliver.

Dan
1 C U There

Unlucky last start and never got a run after being three back on the markers. Three starts back he flew home for third at Cambridge. He’s better with a sit so I’m hoping he can tail the right one and sneak up the passing lane.

Matt
2 Joshua Brown

This horse went into the Black Book after its last start at Te Rapa. Led and was niggled at to the corner, got the lead top of straight & looked a bit lost, running around but still finishing strong & fighting back to just miss, gapping 3rd by 5L. Some good horses in this field but I’m going to go with the race fitness and hopefully the better odds.

Dan
12 Sans Doute

Course specialist, 4/4 and up to the 1200 for the first time down the straight I think it’s going to suit her well. Hopefully she can track tha favourite all the way and boom over the top of them late.

Kemeys
7 When Stars Align

We get Opie up on Saturday and this horse has won second up. It was a good run first up behind Saveglee at Taupo who is a pretty good horse. Vivacious is in the same race so they might run the quinella but think When Stars Align will be too good for them.

Ted
9 Irrigate

Staying with this mare after having her on top at her last two starts winning both impressively. She has been set for this race and the 3210m distance makes it the longest flat race in NZ. It will be right up her alley as she will stay longer than a mother-in-law and she can get three on the bounce.

Goat
4 Harmonious

This was our Blessed Bet from two weeks ago when running into second to collect the blessed place money. Lily Sutherland will be eager to atone for the last start defeat and I think they’ll get the job done.
