The weekend’s best bets from across the Boys Get Paid community.
Addington, Race 7
Best filly in the race. Forget the last start. When she started coming into the race she locked wheels with another horse and had no chance after that. She gets a good barrier and in-form trainers and will be winning.
Addington, Race 6
They ran 1-2 the first day and I think it could be a repeat. Just Believe is an amazing horse and his win on Tuesday was top drawer. Enough said. Mighty Logan just continues to lift and is super race fit. I thought the draw really brings him into huge contention here to run a big race once again with Muscle Mountain and Oscar Bonavena drawn outside Just Believe.
Addington, Race 13
Two super runs, both for victory, over good fields for this campaign. He’s pure quality and could have easily been in The Velocity. Blair Orange has options and almost all of them lead to success.
Addington, Race 1
Looks well and truly over issues she’s been plagued with. Is trotting really well. Forgive last start, as she got a bad check. With gate speed, Blair should be able to control the race, and might steal it. Big overs at 19s.
Addington, Race 7
Rule a line through last start as she wasn’t herself. Comes up with the ace draw against a good bunch of fillies. She can punch out from the gate and hold a forward position behind one of the favourites, and on her ability, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her flying up the passing lane late. She’s paying good each way money for a classy filly who’s drawn to get the run of the race.
Tauranga, Race 1
Won well on debut on a heavy track. Second up at Tauranga over 1200m got a bit far off them and charged home late to just miss. That finish suggests 1400m will be perfect, and the rain shouldn’t bother her after already winning on a heavy. Wexford are on fire and I think this horse can get the day off to a good start at the $3.20 Boosted Odds.
Tauranga, Race 4
Very impressive win first up. Looks like a horse with a bright future. They’ve been patient with this horse, being a 4yo mare having only it’s third start. Hopefully can get some cover and get over the top of them late. $6 & $2.10.
Tauranga, Race 5
I really wanted to make one my best at Riccarton but we better not give it away to the bookies. $4.40 on on the Odds Surge. A brave run in behind Kattegat last start, and now fourth up with a bit of extra fitness, this horse has a golden chance to put another win on the board. If it can cop the track, we’ve got a good jockey in the saddle and no excuses to be winning.
Tauranga, Race 3
Four starts for two wins and two thirds with all four runs having plenty of merit. Rain is forecast over the next couple of days and an easing of the track wouldn’t worry him. From a good draw, I expect him to go forward and be hard to beat.
Riccarton, Race 3
Knocking on the door for a win, and with even luck, should be saluting. Big run the first day and with a better barrier should settle handier than last week and be getting over the top of them late.
