The weekend’s thoroughbred best bets from across the Boys Get Paid community.
Matamata Race 5: Omen bet for The Goat who will be having his First Dance with Chrissy on Friday! Has been finishing very strongly her last two starts, not far away from Dealt With, Moving Melody, and Vegas Queen, who have all since run Top4 in stakes races. This looks an easier field – beat Hard Roca last start, and our old mate Livid Sky is unlikely to win first up. Hoping she’ll settle in a nice spot and get over the top with her big finish.
Matamata Race 9: Eye catching run last start in the KM 4YO behind Orchestral and Mary Shan. He came from last on the corner and didn’t have the clearest running all the way down the straight but really powered home the last 200. This horse has to carry a big weight but does get a 2kn claim. He’s taking on a pretty tidy field but I think this horse is a bit special and we might see him do a job on them in the last of the day.
Invercargill Race 9: We are rolling the dice where they roll their Rs. This horse was beaten by Quintabelle (who won again next start) before stepping up over a bit more round and running 3rd. Back to the mile and fit. Enjoys the track and the distance as well as a firm surface. We will need the luck of the Irish from barrier 19 but we get Samantha all I do is Wynne onboard to navigate our way to $11 odds on the surge and a top 4 saver.
Matamata Race 8: Has been in good recent form, winning two of last five including a four and a half length win at Te Aroha two starts ago. Last start second at Tauherenikau in the Breeders was a top effort as she was last at the 600m before charging home late and running the fastest last 800. First go past 1600m so that will be interesting, but if she gets the distance she could prove hard to beat.
Matamata Race 7: Did enough on debut to suggest she could surprise in this. Should get a cosy run in behind the stablemate, and if the gaps present, she can win. Worth a crack at the juicy odds.
