Alexandra Park, Race 6 | Very good 3yo trotter. Might book a spot in the Ascent with a good run tonight. Gets in well – only off 10 metres over the 2200. A couple of the quality horses are off 25 metres in this which is difficult to win from over 2200 at Alexandra Park. Good quality horse and the money has come early.
Methven, Race 9 | Two starts ago at Methven, had no luck – was pushing them over the line and never got a crack. Last start at Addington, was left parked the trip and battled on well. Is much better than formline suggests and gets his chance to rediscover some form here.
Methven, Race 7 | Been waiting for him to find a race like this for a while. Loves the green top and while his last start here was a little below par there were excuses with a rain impacted track. Nice dry surface this week, good draw and likely to be trail or three fence and has the speed to run past them all late. Looks great each way bet.
Methven, Race 10 | Massive grade drop for him in this. He’s been racing against some really nice horses at Addington, so will appreciate this field. Drawn to be an early leader and over the short course markers place to be. Grass no issue. Massive chance.
Methven, Race 2 | Smart performances in all three runs this preparation – finds a race which she could just have too much speed for them.
Tauranga, Race 7 | Racing in very good form and got home as Ted’s best two starts ago to break maidens easily over 1600m at Hawera. Last start was her first run over distance for a good 2nd. Will be much fitter to take on 2100m again and hopefully finds a good track which it seems she prefers.. We’re getting $6 boosted and $2 a place as the saver, which is great money for a horse that brings that Hawera form!
Flemington, Race 9 | I’m going again, all the stars should align this time, 4th up 2/2 Track Distance 2/2 and most importantly gets a good track. This horse hasn’t been on top of the ground this prep and I believe this will be the key to booming home late. An added bonus is J Mac up as well is a bonus $6.5 & $2.5.
Trentham, Race 8 | To shout the sherbert. $4.60 and $1.85. This horse is having a great campaign so far and we get another crack at 1600m where it has won two and placed twice from five starts. Hoping for a soft track for this horse. Good win last start beating My Lips Are Sealed who will hopefully frank the form earlier in the day. Has Hawera form. Ticks more boxes than an American voter. Get on.
Tauranga, Race 9 | Good galloper who has won seven of his fourteen starts. Five starts at 1400m for four wins. Resumed with a nice win at Matamata a month ago and is unbeaten second up. Drawn to get a nice run, handles all types of track conditions, and should be very hard to beat.
Tauranga, Race 8 | Gets in nicely at the weights. Dominant winner last time and.can repeat the dose.
