The weekend’s best bets from across the Boys Get Paid community.
Alexandra Park, Race 5
Got the start wrong last start but was huge afterwards. Only needs to get the start right here to go close, third up with a bit more fitness. I expect to see this horse winning.
Timaru, Race 4
Things didn’t go to plan on Cup Day. Previous form had been very consistent prior going for a spell. With a good run in transit, can be very competitive in this.
Invercargill, Race 8
Pretty luckless in two runs back from a spell, especially at Winton on Sunday. Needs the right kind of run to unfold but could have the final say here.
Alexandra Park, Race 7
Loves 2200m, gets in well in this field only off 10m. First up run was good and expect fitness improvement.
Pukekohe, Race 2
Kept an eye on him last season and he was very good without winning, one length off Quintessa in the Levin Classic, then blew out when going up further in distance. First up at Ellerslie over 1400m, was miles last at the corner but charged home to miss by 2.6L. If he finishes like that again this week down the Pukekohe runway, he could just cruise past them at a great price of $7 & $2.60.
Pukekohe, Race 9
We get a nice price to find out if this horse can take a step up to this sort of company. Killed them last start and now steps up to the 1400. Hopefully finds some cover midfield and booms over the top of them late.
Pukekohe, Race 4
Taking on a couple of good ones here but third up at 2100. I am keen to be on. A couple of good runs so far this campaign and was flashing home with good sectionals last start. Has won twice at Pukekohe. I’m on.
Pukekohe, Race 3
A Snitzel colt having his first start and the bookies certainly haven’t missed him opening him at $2.00 Wednesday afternoon. The winner of all of his three trials with the latter a facile win at Waipa three weeks ago he certainly looks pretty smart and a winning debut will be no surprise. One to boost the weekend multies
Whanganui, Race 2
Trialed during the week after being late scratched at Riccarton on Day 1. Expect a bold showing for a very in-form stable.
