Matt Markham has been through the form guide and speed maps and has provided his race analysis and betting strategy for each of the eight races at the Winton Harness meeting on Sunday 8 November below:
Another week and another race where Rakamick (1) looks a great chance to finally break through for a well-deserved victory. It’s been a long time coming but those who like to back the place and top four won’t be complaining as that’s what he offers up almost every week. This looks a golden chance though and he really should take it.
Selections: 1-6-2-10-3
| 1. Rakamick (1) 32332 | |||
| More strong work in his latest 2nd. As always, he’s right in the fight. | |||
Has sharpened right up in trials and workouts ahead of today’s debut after arriving in North Otago and looks a quick winner does Remember Bev (4). Not a deep maiden field here so as long as the manners are there, she shouldn’t be too far away.
Selections: 4-8-6-2-9
| 4. Remember Bev (4) | |||
| Chased race winner in latest trial. Looks to have some upside. Consider her. | |||
Beautifully bred debutant Meshino (11) will be all the rage here after some slick trial efforts around the region for Nathan Williamson. Has shown an impressive turn of foot to run some very fast sectionals so the second row draw doesn’t worry too much and look for a winning debut here.
Selections: 11-2-6-3-5
| 11. Meshino (3) | |||
| Brings excellent trial form to his debut. Should take plenty of holding out. | |||
Bringing some tidy Canterbury form back home with her Cheer Up N Dance (6) looks well placed today. Second behind Alecto last time out with a really strong effort and if able to get into a forward position today should take all sorts of beating.
Selections: 6-2-9-7-4
| 6. Cheer Up N Dance (6) 47622 | |||
| Nice late in her Addington 2nd & close up here prior. Genuine threat. | |||
Promising trotter Way Coola (3) was superb last time out at Invercargill despite never really looking comfortable on the track. Winton should suit a whole lot better and if able to get onto the speed quickly and control things then might be a bit too good.
Selections: 3-6-10-4-14
| 3. Way Coola (3) 61192 | |||
| Solid work in her Ascot 2nd adding to fine record. Strong winning claims. | |||
A run of really good efforts from Shezastranger (1) so far this campaign without breaking through for a win. Massive barrier draw upgrade here and with the advantage of the markers can turn good form into winning form in what is an even looking maiden field.
Selections: 1-10-13-6-2
| 1. Shezastranger (1) 43734 | |||
| Worked & fought on in her Winton 4th. Consistent type who can play a role. | |||
Never too far away from the action and great in both runs back from a spell Babe On The Beach (8) should be ready to strike here today. Will need to come from the wide draw but very quick when she needs to be and should beat most using that asset alone.
Selections: 8-7-1-2-6
| 8. Babe On The Beach (8) 81×22 | |||
| Excellent in her 2nds this time in. No draw favours but deserves big respect. | |||
Quality filly Havtimewillfly (8) should relish escaping some really strong fields to open her campaign in behind Indulge Me and Secret Wish. Much more suitable here and even from the outside draw she looks the class horse of the field and should deliver accordingly.
Selections: 8-6-3-2-4
| 8. Havtimewillfly (8) 69×09 | |||
| Takes massive step back from racing top class fillies. Maximum respect. | |||
