Matt Markham has been through the form guide and speed maps and has provided his race analysis and betting strategy for each of the 11 races at the Addington Harness meeting on Friday 31 July below:
Nice wee drop back in grade here tonight for Miracle Memphis (9) and the form has been fantastic of late. Draws to track the speed here and look to join in late and with a bit of luck at the right time can be charging on the home turn and out finish everything here.
Selections: 9-3-7-4-5
9. Miracle Memphis (9) J: Wilson House 42436T: Michael House
Too bad to be true first up here from a spell by Kings Choice (2) but expecting Phil Williamson to have ironed any issues out and from the good marble, they’ll be hard to stop here. Should roll to the front and control things and put it beyond doubt a long way from home.
Selections: 2-4-1-5-9
2. Kings Choice (2) J: Nathan Williamson 435×6T: Phil Williamson
Left parked in a solidly run race last Friday night, Waihemo Hannah (6) found the task a little too large. Better suited here though and if able to punch away and get close to the speed than can ramp things up inside the final lap and give them all plenty to chase.
Selections: 6-11-4-9-2
6. Waihemo Hannah (6) J: John Dunn 21037T: Kenneth Hannah
A lot of promise in the first campaign of Franco Ankara (9) but time always looked like it would be a friend. Returns here from a good break and has had two very good trials to prepare. Looks set to rock and roll early and plenty of money suggests a winning return is on the cards.
Selections: 9-2-3-8-4
9. Franco Ankara (9) J: Carter Dalgety 6x30xT: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
Showed ability last campaign and if there’s been any improvement from Asymmetric Return (5) then a winning resumption would be no surprise. Very sharp trial last week at Rangiora and from a front line draw looks poised to get on the speed and give them all plenty to think about.
Selections: 5-2-1-9-10
5. Asymmetric Return (5) J: Carter Dalgety 3pxT: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
A promising start to the racing career last campaign from Unico Realta (2) and did most of it on natural ability. Should be better this time in too. Gets down to barrier one with a scratching which really helps further and if able to hold up and be close turning for home, should be hard to catch.
Selections: 2-5-3-9-8
2. Unico Realta (2) J: John Dunn 2317xT: Robert & Jenna Dunn
Two good runs since resuming from a spell by Nothing But You (11) but hasn’t quite been able to grab a win. Tonight should change that though. Looks a standout, even from the second row and with a bit of luck and a nice run through she’ll be close enough to get the better of most here.
Selections: 11-7-5-6-2
11. Nothing But You (2) J: Ricky May 23×22T: Steven Reid
Sharp improvement likely to come from Cee Whata Mickee (8) this week after a second in a fresh up run seven days ago. Might take a different approach too and let things unfold before unleashing on them late. Talented pacer and no surprise to see him winning.
Selections: 8-3-9-1-10
8. Cee Whata Mickee (8) J: Sam Thornley 113×2T: Ken Barron
Did it tough last week sitting parked, but boy Major Doosie (8) was good winning. Getting better and better with racing and developing into a pretty sharp trotter. His best asset is his high speed and he might get to use that here. Look for him to be charging home late.
Selections: 8-1-10-11-2
8. Major Doosie (8) J: Sarah O’Reilly 3×231T: Brent & Tim White
Super effort to take ground of J T Boe last week by Amaretto Franco (10). Her high speed makes her potent in this grade no matter what. Should get an ideal trip here tonight from the second row and with a cold shot at them, might just be a little too quick.
Selections: 10-1-9-2-7
| 10. Amaretto Franco (1) Scratched: | |||
Much more like it last time out from Transonic (3) and the wheel looks to have finally turned back in the right direction. Talented at his best and from the good draw here can make the most of it and look to dominate from the top end and dash them home.
Selections: -3-9-1-4-10
3. Transonic (3) J: Tim Williams 1×002T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
