Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Whanganui Greyhounds meeting on Friday, 13 June.
Honky Tonk High (#5) chased a tearaway Canterbury visitor when second at Manawatu on Tuesday. Much better on this track so should deliver in this line-up.
Selections: 5-2-4-6
Hurry Higgins (#8) put in sound placings at Manawatu where he tends to peak late over 375m. Appears better suited to this track now & anywhere close to his last two performances on the track wins this.
Selections: 8-2-7-4
There was an element of luck to Thrilling Gordon’s (#5) Manawatu win but he is improving & despite his modest record here the third three starts back was good enough to be competitive in this small field.
Selections: 5-7-4-8
Green Gold (#6) produced a gutsy third in the Auckland Oaks after leading. Led all the way three starts back holding out 8 Big Time Ultra.
Selections: 6-8-4-5
Midnight Brockie (#4) was too slick in a feature sprint final at Manukau. Has a surprisingly modest record on this track but still looks the one to beat. 8 Big Time Rua was trapped wide then checked off heels at Manukau. Prior form here was super. Each way value.
Selections: 4-8-3-6
Big Time Bam’s (#6) last three starts have been at Manawatu but he his far superior here & won by eight lengths the last time he stepped out on this track.
Selections: 6-5-7-1
Big Time Brave (#3) has been a dominant force on Friday nights here lately & even posted a rare win at Manawatu last Friday. Her only defeat recently though came at the paws of 7 Fear to Tread which opened at surprisingly generous odds.
Selections: 3-7-2-4
Big Time Potter (#3) seems to have found her confidence again although her Tuesday win could be considered lucky. On top but you wouldn’t want your last dollar on her.
Selections: 3-6-7-4
Boom Dynamite (#5) lost out in a good duel in a feature at Manukau. His recent runs around here have been strong. The 4 dog should help him in the early rush.
Selections: 5-8-4-2
Big Time Bullet (#5) landed a distant third in a searing c5 contest on Tuesday. Drops back into c4 tonight & the spare box inside him helps.
Selections: 5-3-2-7
Big Time Grande (#7) wasn’t far from the winner despite finishing last at Manukau. Second to a dog that has won seven in a row here the time before. The 6 dog should help her early.
Selections: 7-2-3-8
Opawa Jason (#5) showed good speed before fading late over 375m inn his first run for a month. Opened at outrageous odds in an open field. Field ticket in the quaddie if you can stretch to it.
Selections: 5-3-7-4
