Coolmore Stud Stakes 2026 Tips, Predictions & Best Bets

Satono Glow is a very interesting runner heading into this race, and we’re not surprised to see her attracting plenty of attention in the market.

The filly comes into this contest chasing a hat-trick after putting together two impressive wins this preparation. Her latest performance was particularly good, beating a good field in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill. She showed a sharp turn of foot and plenty of class, suggesting she’s more than capable of handling this level.

Barrier 4 is another big advantage, giving Ben Melham plenty of options down the Flemington straight. She gets a 2kg weight advantage over the colts and has already shown she can compete against them. At $5, she goes on top in our Coolmore Stud Stakes tips.

Natural Fling deserves plenty of respect after a string of consistent performances, and we think she’s capable of making her presence felt again here.

She was beaten narrowly by The Next Episode in the Danehill Stakes last start, sticking on well after leading and only going down in the closing stages. That was a solid effort, particularly considering the winner probably handled the wet conditions a little better.

She’s also got a third placing in the Group 1 Moir Stakes on her recent record, so there’s no question about her ability to mix it with quality opposition. Damian Lane takes the ride again, and from barrier 8, he should get every opportunity to find a good position.

Under Focus is another runner we think could be worth keeping an eye on at a decent price.

The Kris Lees-trained colt hasn’t quite been able to get his head in front recently, but he’s been racing consistently and could be ready to put it all together.

He’s finished third in each of his last two starts, showing enough to suggest he’s not far away from a breakthrough performance. While he might not have the same flashy form as some of the leading contenders, consistency counts for plenty in a race this competitive.

Barrier 1 is an interesting draw, and having Blake Shinn in the saddle is another positive. He’ll need a bit of luck finding the right run down the straight, but if things fall into place, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him finish much closer than the market expects.
