Matt Markham has been through the form guide and speed maps and has provided his race analysis and betting strategy for each of the eight races at the Addington Harness meeting on Wednesday 21 October below:
A big price on offer for Mouton Cadet (2) here which is a little surprising given a) how well he is racing and b) the fact he has the runs on the board where some key rivals are still in the early stages of a prep. Can land in a sweet spot from here and be right in this for a very long way.
Selections: 2-4-5-7-1
2. Mouton Cadet (2) J: Mia Holbrough 28223 T: Bruce Negus
A superb first up effort on the grass at Methven by Razor Ray (7) when only downed by a pretty smart one in Enchanted Star. This is a decent field though, so he’ll need to have improved from that run but should have the class edge on most to go very close.
Selections: 7-19-3-5
7. Razor Ray (7) J: Clint Ford 344×2 T: Ken Ford & Amanda Tomlinson
Been a lot of chances for Moonlite CC (6) in the past few months, but none of them taken. Won’t get a better opportunity than this to get a run on the board though. Super here last week and a repeat effort of that in this field would be good enough to win.
Selections: 6-3-5-1-9
6. Moonlite CC (6) J: Robbie Close 43582 T: Andrew Stuart
Arrives in Canterbury from the northern branch of Stonewall Stud and after a good fresh up win there Captains Secret (3) will look to bring that form forward. Not a straight forward first up run, there’s some hardened and well-versed rivals, but should have them all for class.
Selections: 3-11-5-1-12
3. Captains Secret (3) J: Nikita Burton 207×1 T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
Here’s a recipe we’ve seen a couple of times lately. A newcomer to the Mitch and Pete Robertson stable on a low rating looking for a first up win and Heaven Forbid (4) has been backed first up too. Has always looked capable and perhaps the change in scenery will turn things right around.
Selections: 4-12-5-7-13
4. Heaven Forbid (4) J: Mia Holbrough 07089 T: Peter & Mitchell Robertson
Some not bad work of late from Shadow Creek (1) and really finds a suitable race here tonight. Inside draw is a big plus, can stalk the speed and look to have one run at them and with a cold shot is going near enough be quite hard to beat in this line up.
Selections: 1-4-2-3-5
1. Shadow Creek (1) J: Blair Orange 64575 T: Brent Weaver
The best horse in this race by quite some distance, Chester Gold (13) looks to be here for a confidence building run and he should find it. Not the cleanest or prettiest trotter going around but can be quite effective when able to build up the revs. Should steam home over this field.
Selections: 13-6-3-10-12
13. Chester Gold (13) J: Kyle Cameron 14754 T: Kyle Cameron
| 1. Opnzbar (1) Scratched: | |||
