Wyong Gold Cup Tips 2026: Predictions & Best Bets

TAB has Wyong Gold Cup tips and predictions for the listed feature race this Friday.

Wyong Gold Cup odds have a few runners contesting favourtism, and it’s always a great race on Wyong’s feature card of the year.

Best Bet
Elliptical @ $7.00
Race time:

Elliptical is working his way towards a win for Chris Waller, who could have a stranglehold on the 2026 Wyong Gold Cup.

The 7YO son of Dundeel has over $1.3 million in the bank, and his runs in the Premier’s Cup and Prelude were good enough, and he’s nearing an overdue win.

We suggest punters overlook his recent form. He’s a better horse than what he has been showing, but his fourth in the Premier’s Cup Prelude was a tidy effort, and having two runs under his belt will help.

He’s in good hands with Waller, who trained 2025 winner Saltcoats, and although Elliptical isn’t on the same level as Saltcoats, he’s good enough to beat this even field on Friday.

Next Best
Eliyass @ $4.50
Race time:

Eliyass comes off a win in the Premier’s Cup, which is always the best betting guide for the Wyong Gold Cup.

The Ciaron Maher-trained runner turned his form around smartly with the win, and when his confidence levels are up, he’s a tough horse to stop, as he showed when he first arrived in Australia with winning form.

The 7YO gelding by Le Havre has had a trial to prepare for this race when running third at Hawkesbury, and that will have his fitness levels up. It’s a smart decision from Maher, and it could give him the fitness edge over this field.

Punters get each-way odds at $4.50 for Eliyass, and that’s a fair price. He could shorten on race day, so snap up the early odds.

Best Roughie
Age of Sail @ $15.00
Race time:

Trainer Kris Lees has a strong history in provincial cup races, which makes Age of Sail worth considering among our Wyong Gold Cup predictions.

The 7YO son of Frankel has an impressive pedigree, and he showed plenty of promise during his early Australian campaigns, so we’re hoping that form returns.

He has struggled to reproduce his best form of late, finishing ninth in the Premier’s Cup Prelude behind Eliyass last time out. However, the spacious tracks haven’t always played to his strengths, and he’ll be better at Wyong.

A return to Wyong could be exactly what he needs. The tight circuit should allow him to settle closer to the rail and race in a style that better suits him. Therefore, the $15 odds are too good to leave out of Wyong Gold Cup predictions.

Race time:

Punters get value odds with our Wyong Gold Cup SRM, which includes our three selected runners.

We have Elliptical Top 3, Eliyass Top 3, and Age of Sail Top 4, which pays a healthy price at the TAB, and it’s worth including in picks.

Our SRM odds get boosted from Age of Sail to finish in the Top 4, and although he’s a long shot, we’re keeping the faith.
