A string of second placings in the last few starts tells the story of Rakamick (7) here today. Deserves a winning turn and should really get one here today too. Not as strong of a line up of rivals as some of the recent runs and will be driven confidently, so looks a strong bet to start the day.

The form probably doesn’t tell the full story of La Familia (8) of late. Has been going a bit better than it reads. Finds a very wide open race today and Carter might just elect to light the fuse here and try and get onto the speed and there’s enough there to suggest a win can unfold.

Put it all together last week and showed his class once again and if He Aint Fakin (8) can get through the first few hundred metres here, then he’ll do the same once more. But he’s got to find that rhythm early, that’s the major key.

Really strong introduction to racing by Hazel Grace (2) last time out when finishing second. Should build from that and grab a win pretty quickly and from the good draw here today, looks well poised. Wouldn’t need to go much better to be the one to beat in this.

Sharp return to racing from Delphyne (7) last time out and looks set for a good campaign. Finds a pretty winnable race today that if the manners are there, she’ll be close enough to the speed to launch an assault on this and get the win.

Still a bit of life left in the old boy judging by his recent efforts and with the right kind of luck Mr Cash Man (12) can certainly win this. Few to get around but he doesn’t mind that and if the speed is on in front of him, expect him to be charging at the line.

Superb effort first up from a spell by Utah Jazz (8) and looks set to pick up right where things were left off last campaign. Will need to be better again from the wide draw but if one of the more progressive pacers in Southland and that should show today.

Found herself in a really beautiful vein of form at the moment and Stranger Things (5) has been the dominant force through this Silk Road series. Nice draw to use, a positive driver in the bike and some key rivals off trickier marbles – things look good for her here.
