Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Alexandra Park Harness on Friday 10 July.
In a field devoid of standouts, Kenny Hill (8) finds his way to the top of the pile almost by default. A solid effort for fourth here last time when finding the lead and should find this a little easier. The Michelle Wallis and Bernie Hackett combination, along with daughter Crystal is running red hot at the moment too.
Selections: 8-5-7-9-6
| 8. Kenny Hill (8) J: Crystal Hackett 5×584T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett | |||
| Led from similar marble 2 weeks ago here when run down. Support likely again. | |||
Could not have been any more impressive in the resuming run and when No More Dreaming (3) steps out tonight expect him to be awfully hard to beat. Much better draw to use here and has a little more fitness on the side. A positive draw should net a positive result.
Selections: 3-2-5-6-4
| 3. No More Dreaming (3) J: Andre Poutama 7×3T: Barry Purdon & Scott Phelan | |||
| Terrific resumption a week ago. Shouldn’t be a maiden too long; major player. | |||
A really nice price on offer tonight for Chickies Babe (10) who couldn’t have been much better in the first up run for third here last time. Will strip considerably fitter this time around and with good manners should be right in the fight for a very long way.
Selections: 10-13-8-7-3
| 10. Chickies Babe (10) J: Josh Dickie 621×3T: John Dickie | |||
| Tidy first-up run netted her 3rd a fortnight back. Improvement makes her a hope. | |||
Tasted defeat for the first time in the career last time out but boy, Ride The Waves (7) was tough. Did a power of work and only faltered late. A much kinder run here and the class should shine and she can find the winning groove again.
Selections: 7-6-9-3-2
| 7. Ride The Waves (7) J: Maurice McKendry 115T: Steve & Amanda Telfer | |||
| Tasted her first defeat without losing any admirers, 19 June. A bright hope here | |||
A super return to racing from Viscount Mackendon (4) this time in and chasing a hattrick of wins tonight. Has been starting off big handicaps and trotting onto the speed so should find it a little easier tonight from the front tape. Can bowl along and make it hard for those chasing to run him down.
Selections: 4-11-14-12-9
| 4. Viscount Mackendon (4) J: Crystal Hackett 2×211T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett | |||
| Backed up 12 June win with gallant victory 2 weeks later. Can step up and figure | |||
A strong start to the career from War Party (5) and there’s clearly a bit to work with moving forward with the well bred pacer. Gets in here today with fitness on his side ahead of his key rival and stablemate War Chief and if he can get onto the speed and in front of him then he’ll be hard to beat.
Selections: 5-3-4-1-12
| 5. War Party (5) J: Harrison Orange 31T: Barry Purdon & Scott Phelan | |||
| Arrived too late on debut but too sharp a week later. Expected to go close again | |||
Beaten by a pretty smart one in Youneverknow in a fresh state a few weeks back, Illicit Love (9) should step out tonight a lot fitter and in a race that looks well within range, prove very hard to beat. Talented trotter at his best and if he can get away well then it’s game on here.
Selections: 9-4-10-6-5
| 9. Illicit Love (1) J: Crystal Hackett 965×2T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett | |||
| Nutted in resumption run and with any luck from the 2nd row will take stopping. | |||
Found his winning groove and continued his love of Alexandra Park last time out and there’s no reason why American Me (7) can’t repeat again here. Great stand start exponent and if he pings and gets in front of a few rivals early then he should be able to put them to the sword at some stage and out-tough everyone.
Selections: 7-8-4-6-2
| 7. American Me (7) J: Matthew White 42701T: Matthew White | |||
| Gutsy stalling Jeremiah, 26 June. Tough mark to come from but must factor in. | |||
