Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Wednesday 15 April.
A huge slide back in grade here for Jack’s Eyre (1) who was last seen running a strong fourth behind Ukraine on Easter Rewards night. Is compiling a really good record and from the inside draw here with Cheree Wigg in the bike, looks hard to beat.
Selections: 1-6-9-8-4
1. Jack’s Eyre (1) J: Cheree Wigg 24214T: Greg & Ben Hope
In terms of futures, none in this probably look to set to go as far as Learning To Fly (1) should and if there’s ever a perfect chance of a maiden win then this one here is it. Just needs to trot. Has everything else required but those first few hundred metres are going to be key.
Selections: 1-5-3-2-10
1. Learning To Fly (1) J: Robbie Close 24494T: Matt Purvis
There should be good improvement off the back of the strong first up run from Riley John (1) here last week and wouldn’t need to go much better than that with the aid of the markers again to be winning this. Should find a happy place here in these kinds of races and a strong hope.
Selections: 1-5-8-2-6
1. Riley John (1) J: Sam Thornley 567×2T: Mitchell Scheuber
The best version of Diedre Franco (5) would find this race right up her alley. The problem is we don’t always see that version. Has the speed to reel anything in this field in over the final 200m but needs to be in the right mood. Nice price on offer to find out.
Selections: 5-9-3-6-8
5. Diedre Franco (5) J: Gemma Thornley 55506T: Chris Thornley
Unseen at the races since winning during the middle of last year, Justa Rippa (3) won pretty nicely in a decent field and looked a nice horse. Given some time out and has come back with a quiet trial. Will of course improve with the run but might just have the class edge over this line up.
Selections: 3-6-7-1-4
3. Justa Rippa (3) J: Henry Sail 5341xT: Greg & Ben Hope
Super in some really good fields of late recently, this is a huge step down in grade for Crown The Moment (3) and as long as the manners are there then he should have the measure of this field without even raising a sweat. Doesn’t win them out of turn, but doesn’t get chances like this often either.
Selections: 2-7-6-8-4
3. Crown The Moment (3) J: Ben Hope 96234T: Greg & Ben Hope
It’s a brave game picking Bautista (12) to win races. You’ll lose more often than you win, but this does look the great opportunity for another victory and if he can track through from the second row and land a nice trip then he should really be able to reel this field in late.
Selections: 12-5-11-7-6
12. Bautista (3) J: Brad Williamson 73526T: Brad Williamson
