Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 15 races at the Palmerston North Greyhounds meeting on Tuesday 17 February, 2026.
2 Thrilling Muse is a handy stayer who steps back up in distance on the back of a pair of strong 457m wins on his home track at Cambridge. Has raced well here before.
Selections: 2-6-3-1
2. Thrilling Muse (2) 6X411T: S Lozell & G Clark
5 Ten Across was a sharp debut winner at Hatrick on Friday. Has trialled well on this track. Quaddie anchor.
Selections: 5-3-6-8
5. Ten Across (5) 1T: K A Lincoln-Papuni
3 Fruit Party has fewer convictions than his rivals in this reverse order contest so won’t get a better opportunity in this class.
Selections: 3-6-5-8
3. Fruit Party (3) 58667T: Marcie Flipp
7 Too Easy is up in class & on a new track but the ability that he has shown at Addington should carry him to a third straight win.

7. Too Easy (7) 11T: D Fahey & K Wyllie
Sharp Hatrick win by 8 Forever A Fairy in this grade on Friday. Picked up his maiden on this track.

2 Shim has swapped recent results on this track with 6 Hendrix Ruler before venturing successfully up to Cambridge.
Selections: 2-6-3-4
2. Shim (2) 51211T: J T Pruden
6 Save Time is a reliable beginner & is tenacious when challenged. Early speed especially on this track gives her the nod over her strong sister 5 Donna Anne Billy.
Selections: 6-5-2-1
6. Save Time (6) 12212T: C Hodgson
7 Last Say has been lightly raced lately but seems to perform well in a fresh state as he did here last month in a fast race. Should have the measure of this field.
Selections: 7-2-5-4
7. Last Say (7) 13232T: I Archer
4 Chief Dribble has been the benchmark stayer in NZ for over two seasons now & is still somehow near the peak of his game. Won his only start this course/distance although it was in July 2024. 8 Johnny Football is the defending champion in this group two contest. Lacks recent racing but he is a fierce competitor.
Selections: 4-8-6-3
4. Chief Dribble (4) 12214T: Matt Roberts
7 Child Prodigy was beaten by 2 Run The Gauntlet at Hatrick on Friday but she is inbeaten in three here & seems to run the track better than him. 9 Opawa Simpson has had excuses lately & is better than c4 around here.
Selections: 7-9-2-6
7. Child Prodigy (7) 17122T: Lisa Cole
Extra Palmerston North Greyhounds

Selections: 3-6-7-2
3. I’ve Got Swagger (3) 57634T: Lisa Cole
5 Jerry Cola is the defending champion in this Group 2 North Island Challenge Stakes & is on a ten-race winning streak. 2 More Magic has returned in superb shape. Can push the favourite & has strength. Quinella play.
Selections: 5-2-7-3
5. Jerry Cola (5) 11111T: D Fahey & K Wyllie
8 Blazing Maeve is a recent downgrader who has a slashing record this course/distance & she showed enough in her last start at Cambridge to take this out. 5 Big Time Chur continues to run big races at inflated odds.
Selections: 8-5-6-4
8. Blazing Maeve (8) 18564T: J T Pruden
9 Lulu’s Dream was unlucky when fourth here three starts back & she looked lost down the straight track last time. 6 My Mini Me will give her space early & can measure up on this track too.
Selections: 9-6-7-10
9. Lulu’s Dream (5) 46418T: Lisa Cole
5 Heart Felt was a smart winner when visiting here last time. Looks right up to this so the odds are tempting. 8 Jeddy Spaghetti will be better for his recent look around here in a fast race.
Selections: 5-8-3-10
5. Heart Felt (5) 33731T: B C McInerney
