The PGA Tour returns to Mexico for the World Wide Technology – the old Mayakoba – with Tigers Woods’ first design to be the host course.

El Cardonal is an easy test reminiscent of old-style Californian courses. Going low is key so looking towards form with the flat stick primarily.

Michael Thorbjornsen @ $23

Michael Thorbjornsen is a talented youngster has been knocking on the door of his first win since April with four Top 4 finishes in his last 14 starts with three other Top 20 finishes in that run. One of those was a T-2 in the Corrales Puntacana, one of the key guides. He leads the Tour in GIR and ranks Top 10 in Birdie or Better and Par 4 Scoring.

The only one of the selections not a top grade putter, Rico Hoey tends to make up for it with an excellent tee-to-green record. Hoey ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green and 3rd in GIR. He is flying in three of his last four starts.

Matt Kuchar is a veteran who loves it down in Mexico with a win in the 2019 Mayakoba while posting a T-2 here in 2023. He is hitting them well with Top 25 finishes in four of his last six starts. He ranks 3rd in Par 4 Scoring, 9th in Putting Average and 14th in Strokes Gained: Putting.

Sam Ryder is a quality putter who has finished Top 10 here in two of his last three starts in this event. Ryder ranks Top 13 in both Putting Average and Strokes Gained: Putting. He is playing well with Top 20 finishes in three of his last seven starts.

Another elite putter who won’t get a better chace to break through. Taylor Montgomery ranks 2nd in Putting Average and 2nd in Strokes Gained: Putting. He also ranks 5th in Birdie or Better. He has played this event three times and posted a T-10 in 2023. Playing well with Top 18 finishes in four of his last eight starts.
