Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Palmerston North Greyhounds meeting on Friday 15 August, 2025.
Big Time Iggy (#9) ran a bold second in a far stronger c2/3 race down the straight midweek. This isn’t her best track but it’s a big drop in class. Super Saiyan (#8) showed his inexperience last Friday at Addington but his debut win on a similar track at Ascot suggests he’s a winning chance despite jumping in class on a new track. Goldstar Olivia (#6) has recorded two solid placings since her narrow win on this track in the same grade.
Selections: 9-8-6-3
Thrilling Carlos (#2) put in a solid second despite checking off heels at the first bend. Needs a slightly better beginning to salute. Big Time Meghan (#3) finished a close fourth here before winning at Hatrick. Each way.
Selections: 2-3-6-4
Wanderer Diego (#8) showed up early in a strong restricted age classic at Addington. Has trialled well enough since & this is far easier. Hey It’s Frank (#7) won her maiden here beating a dog that has since won five straight.
Selections: 8-7-6-2
Charley Horse (#7) stomped home for a close fifth here ten days back. Is the only c4 racing c3s & the small field assists him.
Selections: 7-3-6-2
Big Time Lauren (#3) was galloped on early & weakened out when resuming. Has the speed to lead & would be hard to haul in under those circumstances. Even field so need quadrella cover.
Selections: 3-8-7-2
Grasscutter Moe (#3) has been heavily backed in two starts since his eye-catching third here & has been finding the line well.
Selections: 3-8-6-4
Slick win by Big Time Ashton (#5) down the straight track on Tuesday. Has done some of his best work here. Likes to cut to the rail as does Simon Templar (#6). Yuki (#7) could be helped by them & was an impressive winner in his only start on this track.
Selections: 5-7-6-1
Tira Miss You (#4) recently downgraded & returns to her favourite track today. Open field.
Selections: 4-6-3-8
True Ability (#6) loves this track & a wide draw. Chased home a hot dog here last start. More Magic (#1) is a class act that is required in the quaddie.
Selections: 6-1-2-8
Our Boy Romeo (#3) went close here two starts back behind a dog that won it’s next start. At generous odds on opening.
Selections: 3-2-8-7
Hendrix Ruler (#2) was a brilliant winner here first up for a new kennel to remain unbeaten in three starts on this circuit.
Selections: 2-4-3-6
Broker’s Tip (#7) showed up for a long way before fading over 525m. Trialled well enough since. Has been here before. Worth a shot at odds.
Selections: 7-8-5-6
