Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Whanganui Greyhounds meeting on Friday, 18 July.
Mojito Dreams (#4) was second to a promising pup down the straight on Tuesday. Debut seventh on this track was over 520m in a messy race. This will suit better.
Selections: 4-3-7-2
Sweet And Sassy (#4) nearly got up despite first bend bumps last Friday. With a clear run she should salute.
Selections: 4-3-5-6
Tuesday’s straight track run is best forgotten as Cliff Top Trixie (#5) is better on this side of the fence. Beat Hurry Higgins (#7) & Millie’s Choice (#8) here a week ago. Higgins was unlucky but he tends to do that to himself.
Selections: 5-7-8-2
Honky Tonk High (#3) put in a fair fourth down the straight three days ago. Is a better dog on this track especially from a low draw.
Selections: 3-5-4-6
Big Time Lime (#2) was a dominant winner when last presented on this track three starts back. Should dominate this race. 7 Black Malt was second to Lime on that occasion & offers place/same-race multi value.
Selections: 2-7-8-6
Double Please (#3) had his chance at Manawatu but he downgrades & his fourth here three starts back had merit. Bossy Adobe (#2) beat home the favourite Remove All Doubt (#5) when they last met on June 20 so is at generous odds.
Selections: 3-2-5-6
Fear To Tread (#8) is a Group 1 winner who has surprisingly dropped back to c4. Easy 660m win at Manawatu. Should be winning this although worth noting that 7 Hey Driver is the only current c5 in the field & he beat the favourite home here three weeks ago.
Selections: 8-7-4-3
Big Time Brave (#7) is a fast trapper in sublime form. Drawn wider than is ideal but the 6 can help her early. 2 Big Time Toby excels on this track & loves the rail. Also has early pace. Quaddie back-up.
Selections: 7-2-1-3
Thrilling Carlos (#6) trialed in a slick 17.62s here last Friday. It’s a different story in a field especially for a dog like him but he should be hard to beat fresh-up.
Selections: 6-4-3-2
Big Time Cortez (#8) secured a solid placing down the straight & returns to the track where six of his seven wins have come.
Selections: 8-4-5-2
Big Time Clarke (#7) produced a huge second in a strong field on Tuesday. Races well here especially in the black rug. Each way play in an even field.
Selections: 7-2-5-4
