Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Palmerston North Greyhounds meeting on Tuesday 10 June, 2025.
Opawa Bait (#2) brings sound Cambridge form to this track for the first time & meets a field that won’t be daunting to him. 5 Go Tina is all the way back to c2. Had an excuse last Friday but the prior second stacks up well in this field.
Selections: 2-5-7-6
The draw beat Big Time Meghan (#2) on Friday when she got held wide while 3 Hey Mr. Starter grabbed the rail. 4 Go Reuben is a visitor that won at Cambridge on Thursday when downgrading.
Selections: 2-4-3-8
Bet Rejected (#2) seemed to be the author of her own demise when a hot favourite on Friday. Is even hotter today. Clearly the best in the field on ability but she’s still a risky proposition.
Selections: 2-3-4-7
Hey Driver (#8) delivered a smart win in this class on Friday. Wider draw not necessarily ideal but the 9 dog coming into box 6 helps. 1 Who’s Jealous is a high class Canterbury visitor that can win but the inside isn’t his best position.
Selections: 8-1-2-9
Opawa Randy (#3) is another of visiting trainer Sean Codlin’s team that strikes the right field for his debut here off the back of solid efforts up the line.
Selections: 3-2-5-8
Twisted Truth (#1) is a smart young Canterbury chaser that has been an impressive winner of both his starts here. This is a tougher test but he looks suited to the rail.
Selections: 1-3-8-7
Opawa Jordan (#8) struck immediately on the downgrade here on Friday in this class from the same trap. 5 Replica Rebel was one of many hard luck stories in a bizarre 457m race last week. Worth a small play at long odds.
Selections: 8-5-4-3
True Ability (#1) is a Canterbury chaser that has built up a formidable record on this track. Will be angling off the rail but has achieved that successfully here before.
Selections: 1-5-4-2
Cephalopod (#4) was a winner over 457m the last time he stepped out on this course. Only one run since so comes in a touch fresh over an ideal distance.
Selections: 4-8-6-2
Thrilling Rush (#1) is an old stager rediscovering form down in the grades. Easy sprint win from the other side of the track a few days ago. Loves the rail & is even happier over the 457m.
Selections: 1-4-9-3
Big Time London (#3) looks even more lethal at Cambridge then she is here but this race should set up nicely for her. 4 Opawa Simpson comes in fresh here for a new trainer. Has posted a sensational time on this track.
Selections: 3-4-2-5
Paperback (#8) stepped into this grade with aplomb on Friday. Appears to be racing better than ever especially on this track. 3 Old Pal is dropping back to a distance he has a remarkable record over. Worth a stray dollar at the odds.
Selections: 8-3-7-5
