Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Palmerston North Greyhounds meeting on Tuesday 1 April, 2025.
Won the group one Hatrick Classic over 520m on Friday & he thrives on the extra 140m today.
Selections: 7-8-2-5
Solid second over this distance behind a form dog last Tuesday then railed expertly to win at Hatrick. Looks decent value again in a competitive field.
Selections: 3-1-4-6
Qualified fairly a month ago. Surely has to have ability being named after the owners’ local. 6 Green Gold looked handy winning a qualifying trial in a good time at Hatrick.
Selections: 2-6-8-5
Strong 660m win from the front here a week ago. Gets forward which will be crucial with a wide-running visitor drawn in box 1.
Selections: 4-7-2-1
A long time since he won a race but won’t get a better opportunity than this especially after last week’s tidy effort.
Selections: 5-3-7-4
More like his old self when winning at Cambridge. Has an impressive record here. 3 Big Time Dora went close last week & doesn’t often get to draw in this close.
Selections: 6-3-5-8
Racing well without success but dropping back into a reverse order race can change that. Has a handy record in his handful of starts over this trip.
Selections: 4-2-5-8
Posting quick times over 295m on his home track at Addington. Has won a c1 over 457m in a previous start here. 3 Big Time Bullet is on the up again & is a former c5 chaser that won’t be daunted by c4 company today.
Selections: 5-3-2-7
Doesn’t win often but appears to be at generous odds given he beat three of the favourites on merit here last week.
Selections: 7-3-5-6
NZ Derby winner is on a six race winning streak & he ran close to the track record in his only prior start here. 8 Priority is another visitor that looks ideally drawn. Third in a group 2 sprint at Cambridge three starts back.
Selections: 7-8-3-2
Only dampener in his recent form was from an awkward draw in the NZ Derby final after winning a heat. Ran a stunning sprint time on this track in January. 8 Blazin’ Master still saves his best for his home track.
Selections: 2-8-7-3
Probably had her chance after a few early niggles a week ago. Better for the run though & this isn’t any harder. 3 Let’s Go Barbie beat Tara home & has the draw advantage again.
Selections: 7-3-6-8
