Derby heat failure is best overlooked as he is best suited down the straight track where he hasn’t been out of the money in 13 attempts. 6 Mario Wave brought winning Richmond (NSW) Straight track form here & delivered in style in his NZ debut. Should test the favourite.

Smart win when last presented down the straight. Ran through the line well when balanced at Manawatu on Monday. 5 Bolt Wave trialled well enough here a fortnight ago & has looked slick in two Hatrick trials on either side of that. Was unplaced in two races down the Richmond Straight but should be prominent in his NZ debut.

Is a grading special after running second in a c2 last start here behind a dog that has won twice since. 1 Cliff Top Vinnie has been good in his two starts down the straight & ran a game third at Manawatu on Monday. Quinella play.
