Talented American who looks a huge chance this week. Has two wins on the DP World Tour including the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the start of this season. Now has eight straight tournaments with positive strokes gained off the tee that has netted a win and five more Top 16 finishes. Ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, 7th in Par 5 Scoring and 13th in Putting Average. Excellent bet.
The big swinging Spaniard ranks 1st in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee and 11th in Driving Distance and that puts him well in the mix. Also ranks 15th in Bogey Avoidance. The 20yo is well and truly on the up and started the season strong with two Top 6 finishes in five starts since being elevated from the Challenge Tour. Very suitable setup.
Another heavy hitter from Spain, we have been riding Ivan Cantero for a while and with such a perfect course, he is an excellent proposition this week now he has rediscovered his form. Cantero ranks 8th in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee and 10th in Driving Distance. Comes off a nice 5th at Al Hamra last week. On the back of six straight made cuts including two Top 6 finishes, he is a play.
Englishman Marcus Armitage is wildly inconsistent but after a stellar showing last week at Al Hamra and the big price next to his name, he looks a super play. Armitage finished a clear second and gained 2.98 true strokes on the field. Ranks 3rd in Par 5 Scoring, 4th in Scrambling, 6th in Putting Average and 7th in Bogey Avoidance so profiles tremendously.
Frenchman who ranks 13th in Driving Distance and that is good enough to include him here. Also ranks 15th in Par 5 Scoring, another major tick. Finished 13th in at Al Hamra last week while was T-21 in the Singapore Classic last year, a key guide.
Micheluzzi was again in the mix last week, continuing his strong form on the DP World Tour. Surprised to see black figures.
