Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Whanganui Greyhounds meeting on Friday 29 November, 2024.
Run down by a handy hound at Manawatu midweek. His racing style suits this track.
Selections: 8-2-5-6
Drops back in distance after strong 520m efforts. Her times stack up so she looks a value each way play.
Selections: 2-8-7-3
Decent downgrade for him & he returns to the scene of his most recent win. 6 Big Time Ness was unlucky when resuming on Wednesday. Limited 305m experience but it should suit.
Selections: 7-6-3-2
Racing well & looks set for a cosy run drawn under two dogs that like to float out. Beat the favourite 4 Big Time Hilary on merit here last Friday. Hilary has won since at Manawatu.
Selections: 1-4-8-7
His cramped odds reflect his superiority over this field. Should be an exhibition gallop.
Selections: 8-3-5-7
Defending champion thrives on this track & will appreciate the small field.
Selections: 5-4-3-6
Posted his quickest ever time here when making it 16 wins from 19 starts on the track. Will have to run up to his best to beat this high calibre field. 2 Johnny Football beat He’s All Go home when third in the NZ Cup last start. He trialed only a fraction slower than the favourite ran last week with a faster time to the back mark. This is no done deal.
Selections: 3-2-1-7
Matched He’s All Go on the clock last Friday with a thumping c4 win. Big step up but he’s a youngster on the rise & if he reproduces last week’s sectionals even the NZ Cup champion 8 One Hot Bandit, who ran 17.35s in a sprint trial here last week, will be hard-pressed to gun him down.
Selections: 5-8-7-6
The current CD sprint benchmark. Is generally beginning better & finishes off her races reliably well. 1 Space Conspiracy hasn’t been sighted since winning a Galaxy heat but she was unable to take her place in the semi. Produced a sound 17.51s trial last Friday.
Selections: 8-1-6-5
Beat Big Time Bora here before running a solid second at Cambridge. At backable odds in an open field.
Selections: 3-4-6-5
Canterbury visitor has won four from seven in NZ & gets a few favours for his track debut. 5 Big Time Bullet beat Big Time Bora here last month. This is easier than his recent assignments.
Selections: 3-5-7-6
Has won 11 from 12 with his only defeat an untimely one in a Galaxy semi. Hard to go against even in his first race here. 3 Big Time Thrill won the corresponding series in September. Draw sets up well for him.
Selections: 5-3-7-6
