Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 12 races at the Whanganui Greyhounds meeting on Friday 2 August, 2024.
Led for a good way over 375m at Manawatu so the drop back to 305m here looks ideal at this early stage of her career.
Selections: 7-1-4-2
Stepped up into this class & delivered at Manukau. Tricky draw for her to repeat tonight but she beat a smart dog out of box six here the time before. As the market suggests 1 Remove All Doubt is the logical quaddie back-up.
Selections: 8-1-2-4
Turned in the traps the last time she was on this track but the way she has delivered twice at Manawatu since her return gives confidence that she is the early quadrella anchor.
Selections: 5-6-3-4
Has early pace & there isn’t a lot of strength in this field to reel her in if she makes the same start tonight. 5 Big Time Trisha was bumped off balance on the home turn by the dog that beat her last Friday. Quaddie include.
Selections: 8-1-2-4
Gunned down by one of the best here last week then got mixed up in a rough affair at Manawatu. Each way value as is 6 Big Time Kenzie off the back of a determined win at Manukau. Deep deep field.
Selections: 4-6-7-1
Young & green so should take plenty out of her third when stepping up to this clas a week ago. Looks a hope to find the front in this wide open field.
Selections: 4-7-5-6
Didn’t get a kind run from box 5 in her downgrade run but she did well to finish fourth. Looks at nice odds for the TAB rug bonus back special across all races tonight.
Selections: 3-1-5-6
Is a much better suited here than at Manawatu. Meets a seriously even field but didn’t deserve to open as the joint outsider.
Selections: 5-3-1-2
Hasn’t finished out of the money in 19 starts stretching back to March against the very best. Should edge closer to $300k provided he clears the1 dog immediately off the lids. 6 Goldstar Mila & 7 Russian Ahead are both racing exceptionally well but they may not get as economical a trip as the favourite.
Selections: 2-6-7-1
Enormous drop back in class for her from c4/5 fields over 520m to a c3 305m sprint. Worth the risk at the odds. Market tells the tale of another very open affair.
Selections: 7-8-6-4
Backed up his stellar slick win here with another in this grade at Manawatu. Not the quickest into stride but nor is his toughest rival 4 End of Era so he should make it four straight.
Selections: 7-4-3-5
Downgrades for this as does 3 Big Time Grande after they got in each others way last Friday. In the same traps again which is a concern but hopefully they’ll fight out the finish rather than for territory at the first turn.
Selections: 2-3-4-7
