Thousand Guineas 2026 Tips, Predictions & Best Bets

Pretty Baby is our top pick with Thousand Guineas predictions. She might have finished second last time out, but there’s enough in her recent form to suggest she can bounce back.

The Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle-trained filly was impressive when winning the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes by four lengths at Sandown over 1300m.

She then stepped up to 1440m in the Jim Moloney Stakes at Caulfield, finishing second behind Regal Ambition. That latest run was solid without being spectacular, but she gets another chance over the mile and has Damian Lane aboard from barrier 5.

The draw should give him options to settle her close enough without having to spend too much early. The extra distance is the big question, although her recent performances suggest she deserves a shot at this level, so take the generous odds.

Saintly Dancer is our next best bet for the Thousand Guineas. She’s coming off a dominant six-length win in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes over 1600m at Flemington, and that sort of performance is hard to ignore heading into a Group 1.

The Ciaron Maher-trained filly has been improving throughout her preparation, and the mile clearly looks within her reach. Blake Shinn takes the ride from barrier 4, which should give him plenty of options to settle her in a good position before making his move.

She opened at $7.50, which was a great price, but it didn’t last long. She was hammered in betting markets, so she can’t be left out of Thousand Guineas tips.

Icelady is our roughie for the Thousand Guineas, and she looks a decent option for punters chasing a little more value.

The Maher-trained filly bounced back in style to win the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude over 1400m at Caulfield. That victory showed she can compete with quality fillies, and she now gets the opportunity to build on that performance over the mile.

Ethan Brown takes the ride from barrier 10. It’s not an ideal draw, so he’ll need to find cover and avoid getting caught wide, particularly if the early speed is strong, but Brown is riding well this season.

At the odds, she is worth including in picks to boost payouts handsomely.
