The Rosebud Tips 2026: Predictions & Best Bets

The Rosebud Tips 2026: Predictions & Best Bets

We have The Rosebud tips and predictions for the listed race at Rosehill on Saturday, where punters see some of the most exciting 3YOs make their return.

The Rosebud odds have a close betting market between three runners, who could all be in line for Group 1 success in the spring.

Best Bet
#6 Blue Door @ $3.80

Blue Door had only one run during her first preparation as a 2YO, and it was an impressive victory at Randwick.

The 3YO filly by Stay Inside scored narrowly over The Next Episode, who is a nice up-and-coming type, so the form has been franked.

She has been enjoying her time in the paddock, but after running third in a recent trial at Randwick, she looks set to make a winning return to the races.

She’ll need to be good to beat some talented types, but she is the one to beat, and her opening odds of $4 have firmed into $3.80. She tops our Rosebud predictions, and her odds could keep firming.

Next Best
#10 Castillo King @ $4.20

Castillo King has been the best-backed runner with The Rosebud odds. He opened at $8 before being hammered into $4.20, and it could be smart money for the talented type.

The 3YO colt by Farnan couldn’t have been more impressive when scoring on debut at Warwick Farm by 3.3 lengths, and although the form in behind hasn’t stacked up overly well, he had panels on that field.

When Michael Freedman-trained runners are well-backed, it pays to take notice. It’s a big betting stable, and despite drawing barrier 13, the money continued to come for him. He is worth including in The Rosebud tips.

Rosehill R8 – Tab Rosebud (L)
Open Race time:
10. Castillo King (10)
J: Tommy Berry 54kg
1T: Michael Freedman
Freshened since claiming his maiden victory on debut; favourite; came from midfield and won by 3 len at Warwick Farm on July 15 over 1100m in soft going defeating Eviction Notice carrying 56kg at $2. Since runner-up in a Warwick Farm trial over 792m on August 4. Returned good figures on debut and can get cover from the draw.

Best Roughie
#11 Hostwin King @ $31.00

Hostwin King will need to improve a length to beat this field, but he could run a cheeky race at long odds.

The 3YO colt by King’s Legacy is unbeaten after two wins at Kembla Grange and Canterbury, and good on connections for having a go in higher grades.

We like that he gets in with only 54kg on his back, and barrier 6 should allow him to get a good run in transit. He likes to roll forward and sit handy to the pace, which is a positive around Randwick.

His opening odds of $46 have firmed into $35, and he’s a good hope of providing punters with value.

Rosehill R8 – Tab Rosebud (L)
Open Race time:
11. Hostwin King (5)
J: Ashley Morgan 54kg
11T: Tommy Wong
Puts an unbeaten record on the line. On debut, ran on from midfield and won by 1.0 len at Kembla Grange on June 20 over 1000m on a soft track defeating Zunesha with 57kg at $11. Last time out raced right near the speed and boxed on; won by a long-neck at Canterbury on July 8 over 1200m in the wet defeating Elio carrying 58kg at $12. Underrated colt with a good turn of foot, keep safe.

Same Race Multi

Punters get lovely odds with our The Rosebud SRM, which includes our three selected runners.

We have Blue Door Top 2, Castillo King Top 3, and Hostwin King Top 5, which pays a generous $18 at the TAB. It’s a good price for our same-race multi, and there isn’t too much risk, especially with the top two picks.

There is some risk with including Hostwin King Top 5, but we expect the roughie to run better than his odds suggest, and that’s why the $18 odds are available with the TAB.
