Elliptical is working his way towards a win for Chris Waller, who could have a stranglehold on the 2026 Wyong Gold Cup.<\/p>\n

The 7YO son of Dundeel has over $1.3 million in the bank, and his runs in the Premier\u2019s Cup and Prelude were good enough, and he\u2019s nearing an overdue win.<\/p>\n

We suggest punters overlook his recent form. He\u2019s a better horse than what he has been showing, but his fourth in the Premier\u2019s Cup Prelude was a tidy effort, and having two runs under his belt will help.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s in good hands with Waller, who trained 2025 winner Saltcoats, and although Elliptical isn\u2019t on the same level as Saltcoats, he\u2019s good enough to beat this even field on Friday.<\/p>\n

Eliyass comes off a win in the Premier\u2019s Cup, which is always the best betting guide for the Wyong Gold Cup.<\/p>\n

The Ciaron Maher-trained runner turned his form around smartly with the win, and when his confidence levels are up, he\u2019s a tough horse to stop, as he showed when he first arrived in Australia with winning form.<\/p>\n

The 7YO gelding by Le Havre has had a trial to prepare for this race when running third at Hawkesbury, and that will have his fitness levels up. It\u2019s a smart decision from Maher, and it could give him the fitness edge over this field.<\/p>\n

Punters get each-way odds at $4.50 for Eliyass, and that\u2019s a fair price. He could shorten on race day, so snap up the early odds.<\/p>\n

Trainer Kris Lees has a strong history in provincial cup races, which makes Age of Sail worth considering among our Wyong Gold Cup predictions.<\/p>\n

The 7YO son of Frankel has an impressive pedigree, and he showed plenty of promise during his early Australian campaigns, so we\u2019re hoping that form returns.<\/p>\n

He has struggled to reproduce his best form of late, finishing ninth in the Premier\u2019s Cup Prelude behind Eliyass last time out. However, the spacious tracks haven\u2019t always played to his strengths, and he\u2019ll be better at Wyong.<\/p>\n

A return to Wyong could be exactly what he needs. The tight circuit should allow him to settle closer to the rail and race in a style that better suits him. Therefore, the $15 odds are too good to leave out of Wyong Gold Cup predictions.<\/p>\n
