The Memsie Stakes barrier draw is important for a race of this nature. The 1400m starting point at Caulfield can be tricky, and it\u2019s important for horses to find their spot in the run without being caught wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Autumn Boy (3) and Birdman (4) are expected to need the run to show their best. However, they\u2019ll get a soft run in transit over 1400m, so their chances can\u2019t be dismissed. Chris Waller opted to run Autumn Boy in the Memsie Stakes instead of the Winx Stakes, and it could be the right call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
