Kraus came through the qualifiers here and despite this being her first main draw match at the majors, Bencic must be locked in. Kraus has made two Challenger Tour finals in the last year, winning one, with both of those being on clay. This is her best surface and she could catch Bencic off guard early.

At the start of the year Cirstea announced that this would be her last season on tour but she is being forced to reconsider as she is playing the best tennis of her career. She has climbed to 18 in the rankings \u2013 the highest she has ever been! The 36-year-old beat Sabalenka in Rome before losing to Gauff in the semi finals and will not be challenger in this one. Efremova won the Australian Open juniors earlier this year but has not been able to build on the back of it. She has struggled on the main tour and has been crushed several times in qualifiers. She won just three games against Oliynykova in the Strasbourg qualifiers last week and a similar score line is on the way here.

Tomljanovic plays her best tennis on grass and fast hard courts so it comes as no surprise that she has failed to make it past the 2nd round in her last 9 appearances at the French Open. Hits a flat ball of both wins and will be up against it here for several reasons. Not only does Mcnally lead the H2H 2-0 but the American beat some notable names in Madrid (Mboko and Siniakova). She also took a set off Swiatek in Rome before losing 6-3 in the third. That is strong form leading into what is already a favourable matchup for her. Mcnally will cover the games handicap.
