The demolition derby continued for Sinner in the second round as he handled the Popyrin serve with ease and blew him off the court. Players need a number of specific characteristics in their game to trouble Sinner, and more importantly, an absence of glaring deficiencies. Shapovalov has made a steady rise up the rankings following a knee injury in 2023 and even went back down to play Challenger Tour events. The biggest issue for him in this match will be his backhand. It will be a target for Sinner\u2019s cross court forehand and he will be caught out of position throughout the entire match. Back -8.5 with confidence!!!<\/p>\n

Auger-Aliassime has found his best tennis in the big moments so far winning all three tiebreakers he has contested in the tournament. History suggests he may not get to one in this match as Zverev holds a 6-2 edge in the H2H. One of the Canadian\u2019s wins came at Wimbledon in 2021 but is not a great guide as Zverev has a terrible record at The Championships. Of more interest are recent hard-court clashes. Zverev won 6-2 6-4 last year in Miami and is serving lights out this season. The German will make more than 70% of 1st serve points which Auger-Aliassime will not be able to handle.<\/p>\n

When Bublik is playing on the front foot and with a care free attitude he is extremely hard to beat. This has been the case in the last few months as he has compiled a 10-match win streak. He leads all players having won 89% of 1st serve points and the American crowd will be hoping that he has an off day. I do not think that will case, nor do believe that Paul\u2019s 5-1 lead in this series will give him a significant advantage. Their last 3 meetings have gone the distance and we will see 4 or 5 tight sets here.<\/p>\n

Altmaier spent more time on court in his last match that De Minaur has in the entire tournament. The Aussie is yet to drop a set while Altmaier is coming off consecutive five set wins. That is music to the ears of De Minaur as you can be sure that he will extend rallies for as long as possible in an attempt to use his physical advantages. He did this with great success in a 6-1 6-4 win over the German in Rotterdam earlier this season. The \u2018Demon\u2019 attacked the Altmaier second serve and am expecting him to repeat that here.<\/p>\n
