It has taken some time but the results have finally started to shine through – especially on clay. Made consecutive finals in Madrid and Rome in a run that includes wins over Swiatek, Andreeva and Qinwen Zhewng. The only women to beat her on clay this year are Sabalenka and Paolini (twice). Both women are in the other half of the draw while Gauff is the clear standout in the bottom half. Haddad-Maia, Navarro and Keys are the only notable threats in her corner so I am happy to pencil her in for the semi’s where she could meet Andreeva who she beat in straight sets in each of the last two tournaments.

          Bet Now

<use xlink:href="https://www.tab.co.nz/punters/wp-content/themes/punters/assets/brand-icons/tabnz/svg-sports-icon.svg?v=20260909a#tennis"></use>

Value

Jasmine Paolini ($13) & Peyton Stearns ($101)

Jasmine Paolini ($13): Form is one of the best indicators in women’s tennis making it impossible to leave Paolini’s name out of the hat. Has beaten Gauff (twice), Ostapenko, Jabeur and Shnaider during the current clay court swing which cannot be ignored. More importantly, she won the WTA1000 event in Rome and 12 months ago made consecutive Grand Slam finals at the French Open and Wimbledon. This is her best surface and she has the benefit of experience and belief – two things she lacked last year.

Peyton Stearns ($101): There is not much value about but Peyton Stearns ticks numerous boxes for someone priced at $101. Her lone WTA Tour title and both tour finals have been on clay with her recent run at the Rome Masters drawing our attention. Stearns beat Keys, Osaka and Svitolina before losing to the eventual champion (Paolini) in the semi finals. Has made the 3rd Round in each of her two prior appearances at the French Open and is in career best form. That said, she has been a shadow of herself in the last few months. She was bageled in the opening set by Keys in Madrid only to come back and win the match. It counted for very little as she got dispatched 6-1- 6-1 by Gauff in her following match. In Rome, she beat Cocciaretto 6-1 6-0 but then bowed out in straight sets to Collins. Has a long list of tough opponents in her section including Paolini, Svitolina, Ostapenko and Rybakina. Cannot see her getting it together for two weeks.

Aryna Sabalenka ($3.75): There is no doubt that she is the best player in the world but cannot back her at this price. Her best result here is the semi finals (once) and she has failed to make it past the 3rd round in 5 of 7 attempts. Sabalenka has been in great form with 4 finals appearances in her last 5 tournaments but Qinwen Zheng, who she lost to in Rome, is in her quarter of the draw.

Mirra Andreeva ($6.50): Continue to state that she will win multiple majors but believe she still lacks a level of maturity and resilience. Lost to Gaufff in straight sets in consecutive tournaments (Madrid and Rome) and 5 of her last 7 losses have been in straight sets. When things don’t go right for her, Andreeva is yet to master the ability to make tactical adjustments that will help turn the tide. This is evident against fellow top players which is where it matters with respect to winning Grand Slams.

Qinwen Zheng ($19): Played an outstanding match to beat Sabalenka in Rome which will give her a huge confidence boost, and we should not forget that she won the gold medal here last year. Is a perfect 3-0 in career finals on this surface and is one of the cleanest ball strikers on the WTA Tour. Winning 2-3 matches against top 10 opponents is what we are yet to see her accomplish.

          Bet Now

<use xlink:href="https://www.tab.co.nz/punters/wp-content/themes/punters/assets/brand-icons/tabnz/svg-sports-icon.svg?v=20260909a#tennis"></use>

Forgets

Elena Rybakina ($29), Jelena Ostapenko ($41), Ons Jabeur ($101), Madison Keys ($41) & Jessica Pegula ($67)

Elena Rybakina ($29): It has been a slow start to the year for Rybakina whose only top 10 win in 2025 came against Paula Badosa in Dubai. Is not in the form needed to beat her biggest rivals and this surface does not suit her game. The target for her will be to prepare for Wimbledon where her serve makes her a genuine threat.

Jelena Ostapenko ($41): The former French Open champion has experienced a resurgence in form. She defeated Sabalenka, Swiatek and Navarro en-route to winning the title in Stuttgart but has won only 1 of her 3 matches since. Consistency has always been her biggest issue so we will be betting around her.

Ons Jabeur ($101): Is one of the most liked players on the WTA Tour but her window of opportunity has closed. Has posted a 5-3 record on clay this season and it will come as no surprise to hear that the French Open is her worst major with a career win percentage of 67%. The 4th round is the furthest she has progressed in her last 5 appearances in Paris. Not expecting her to feature in the tail end of tournaments until we reach the American hard court swing.

Jessica Pegula ($67): Like her countrywoman, Pegula prefers hard courts over the red dirt. Winning Charleston is fool’s gold as the American clay courts do not play anything like those in Europe. This has been the case for Pegula as she has lost 4 of her last 6 matches. It is who she has lost to which is more concerning – Uchijima, Alexandrova, Mertens and Kalinskaya. She may be ranked no.3 in the world but is almost certain to drop out of the top 10 in coming months as she has a mountain of points to defend.

          Bet Now

<use xlink:href="https://www.tab.co.nz/punters/wp-content/themes/punters/assets/brand-icons/tabnz/svg-sports-icon.svg?v=20260909a#tennis"></use>

Upset Alert

Camila Osorio ($351), Clara Tauson ($201), Alexandra Eala ($101) & Elisabetta Cocciaretto ($501)

Have been keeping a close eye on a host of women that can go on a run in the first week and exceed market expectations.
