Wellington\u2019s struggles continued last week with their Waitangi Day clash against the Roar ending in a frustrating 1-1 draw.<\/p>\n

Their scoring woes continued with just the one goal against the league\u2019s second worst defence and you have to wonder if they have the firepower to close the gap on the top six.<\/p>\n

One of the teams they are trying to chase down is this week\u2019s opponent, the Melbourne Victory who could give themselves some breathing space here.<\/p>\n

Last week saw them brought back to earth with a frustrating defeat in Newcastle, but they have shown a lot more fight over the last few weeks and they should be able to bounce back here.<\/p>\n

After three weeks on the road, City will be very happy to return to AAMI Park this weekend.<\/p>\n

Especially after their trip saw them play three games for a grand total of three losses, zero points and zero goals scored.<\/p>\n

They have won their last three matches at home though, and look like a much different team playing in their familiar surrounds.<\/p>\n

Last time they hosted Perth in April 2024 it ended 8-0 to City, and another win could be on the cards.<\/p>\n

However eight goals might be a bit optimistic given the much less potent City attack this time around.<\/p>\n

A blockbuster battle between the third placed Western United and league leading Auckland FC headlines Round 19 of the A-League season.<\/p>\n

John Aloisi\u2019s men are coming off a pair of frustrating draws that have left them seven points adrift of Auckland will have to win this match if they want to try and claim the premiership.<\/p>\n

They have the confidence of belting Auckland 4-0 at Mt Smart back in December and another high scoring affair looks set to unfold here.<\/p>\n

Especially with Western United\u2019s last four matches having 19 total goals scored.<\/p>\n

Newcastle might have brought their winless streak to a halt last weekend against the Victory but it\u2019s hard to give them much of a chance in Adelaide this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Reds have been installed as heavy favourites and justifiably so based on the trajectory of their season.<\/p>\n

Each of the last four meetings have been won by Carl Veart\u2019s side and this one should go the same way.<\/p>\n

No matter which way you try and spin this, there is not a lot between Macarthur and the Wanderers.<\/p>\n

Heading into the weekend they are separated by just three points on the ladder (with Macarthur having played one extra match) and will likely be battling for a spot in the finals over the next couple of months.<\/p>\n

The last four meetings have been split two wins apiece but the draw might be the way to go this time around.<\/p>\n

Western Sydney collapsed late in the derby last week while Macarthur will be happy to come away with a draw against third placed Western United.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s tough to split these sides and with the ability to back the draw, you don\u2019t have to.<\/p>\n
