Ascot Racing Carnivals | Ascot Races

Race tipping at Ascot really gets heated during the Perth Spring – Summer Racing Carnival now known as The Pinnacles.

Spring and summer racing in WA attracts the most interest and key races for punters tips at Ascot especially on the Group 1 race days and Perth Cup Day.

The Pinnacles is the only single-track racing carnival in the world featuring a Group 1 thoroughbred event worth A$1.5 million or more on three straight Saturdays.

Ascot tips on the five consecutive Saturday Perth racing meetings held from mid-November until mid-December attract plenty of interest with over A$10.5 million in prize money offered across the festival for the winning horses and their connections.

Expert Ascot horse racing tips centre around the leading locally-trained stars with Perth horses dominating the markets and results.

The summer racing events held at Ascot are led by the track’s most celebrated thoroughbred race – the Group 2 Perth Cup (2400m) – despite it not currently holding Group 1 status.

The other Ascot races worth getting our expert Perth race tips for over the summer are the trio of elite level features – the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m), Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m), and Group 1 Northerly Stakes (1800m) held between November and December.

The spring – summer Ascot tipping action also features betting on The Gold Rush in mid-December, an A$1.5 million weight-for-age event first run in 2022.

Ascot race tips over the summer season are dominated by the state’s best horses and any interstate raiders making the trip over off a spring lead-up in either Sydney or Melbourne.

Outside of the summer, Ascot racing is headlined by the A$5 million The Quokka (1200m) which is a slot-race held for the first time in April of 2023.

The Quokka follows on from Sydney’s A$20 million The Everest slot race run in the spring and is currently Australia’s fifth richest horse race.

Ascot racing over the autumn for The Quokka Carnival also features the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate for two-year-old horses.

With the introduction of The Quokka buy-in race, the WA Autumn Racing Carnival is quickly building in popularity and prestige opening up lots of top Ascot betting opportunities for punters.

Other Ascot autumn racing tips centre around events including the Group 2 WATC Derby (2400m) for three-year-old stayers, the fillies facing off in the Group 3 WA Oaks (2400m), and the Group 3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m).

Like all of Australia’s key racecourses, Ascot is also host to a major race meeting on the first Tuesday of November for Melbourne Cup Day at Ascot which is considered Perth’s biggest Cup Day party!
