Commingling of pools is the process where one totalisator organisation combines its wagering pool with another.
2. What does commingling mean for the New Zealand TAB?
Commingling see's the New Zealand totalisator pool combined with Tabcorp Australia's Victorian pool as well as the Western Australian (WA), Australian Capital Territories (ACT) and Tasmanian totalisator pools. This is known as the 'SuperTab' pool.
For commingled races, customers from New Zealand, Victoria, ACT, WA and Tasmania will bet into the Victorian SuperTab pool for Win, Place, Quinella, First4 and Quaddie bets.
3. How does commingling benefit me?
If you're placing a bet into a commingled pool you can bet with more confidence as bigger pools will mean there won’t be any wild fluctuations in dividends, particularly for smaller and night meetings.
Commingling also provides better opportunities for you to follow New Zealand horses, jockeys, drivers, trainers and owners throughout their Australian campaigns.
4. Will commingling occur on all three racing codes?
Yes, if we are taking a race from Australia, whether it be Greyhound, Harness or Thoroughbred it will be commingled.
5. Are all bet types commingled?
No they are not. Win, Place, Quinella, First4 and Quaddie bets are commingled at this stage while Trifecta, Double and Treble bet types are not currently commingled.
6. What currency are commingled races priced and paid out in?
All the pricing displayed in New Zealand by the TAB is in New Zealand dollars so you don't need to consider exchange rates at all.
You will receive the same price as Australian customers for commingled races, but obviously in New Zealand currency.
7. Have betting rules changed?
Yes, because the bets are placed into the Victorian SuperTab pool a number of rules had to be changed for consistency, most significantly the cancellation rule. You now have 120 seconds in which to cancel your Win, Place, Each-Way and Quinella bets placed within 30 minutes of the jump.

8. How can I identify commingled races?
Commingled races will be identified in the following way on each of the channels listed below:
- Trackside - the ticker at the bottom left of the screen will say 'Commingled'.
- Retail race lists will have the letter 'S' after the race name.
- Teletext - the letter 'S' will be displayed in front of bet type totals

- Raceform in Paper - headlines in the banners at the top of the pages will highlight commingled races.
- On-course teletext display - the letter 'S' will be displayed in front of W, P and Q pool totals
On Trackside and TAB TV, the letter 'K' will be used to represent every $1000 in the pool total (when above $10,000) so $14,000 will be shown as $14K.
9. Where can I find Australian raceform?
